They say that in the Void, no one can hear you scream. Well, at least that sounds like the mantra of Dead by Daylight. Seven years after Behaviour Interactive's game first launched, we could finally be getting a crossover with Alien

Much like FortniteDead by Daylight learned how pop culture crossovers can be your real bread and butter - meaning we've had everything from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to A Nightmare on Elm Street make their mark on the series. Still, there are plenty of IPs to explore.

Is Alien the next Dead by Daylight crossover?

There have been various teases that Behaviour is incubating its own Xeno egg, and most notably, Disney Franchise Management Coordinator Kendrick Pejoro has shared a countdown to "Alien Day" - the annual celebration that honours the sci-fi series on April 26.

Connecting the dots, players noted that back in October 2022, Pejoro name-dropped Dead by Daylight and directly tweeted, "Dead by Daylight has a lot of legendary horror characters. What do you guys want to see make an appearance next?" It's the hashtag #scifi that has kept us intrigued.

On April 17, Behaviour conveniently revealed it'll be handing out an in-game Premium Rift Pass free to Twitch Prime subscribers on April 26 - promising it's "packed with loads of stuff we worked really hard on." The anniversary takes place on June 14, with the month being when the next chapter and killer are expected.

All of this was collated by Reddit user u/Chillchinchila, who puts together a pretty convincing theory that those acid-bleeding b*stards are coming to Dead by Daylight. There was a deleted Reddit post claiming Alien is the next crossover, however, it's starting to sound like there could be more to it.

Alien games are having a resurgence

Since 1979, Alien has been a juggernaut of the horror world, with its first foray into video games being on the Atari 2600 in 1982. Although there have been duds like Aliens: Colonial MarinesAlien: Isolation is held as one of the greatest survival horrors of all time.

Much like Star Wars, there's been a resurgence in Alien games, with Aliens: Fireteam Elite and Aliens: Dark Descent. Still, we're sad we never got Obsidian's Aliens RPG and there's no sign of an Isolation sequel. We don't know who could be coming to DbD, but Ellen Ripley as a survivor and a Xenomorph Killer are almost certain.

The Alien IP is in limbo at Disney, and although Fargo's Noah Hawley is working on a new series for FX, Ridley Scott's movie franchise has kicked the bucket since Alien: Covenant. Putting Xenos in Dead by Daylight is one way to remind us why we love LV-426 and hopefully bring the name back from the abyss of space.
