Call of Duty players have had enough of double-bundle skins

Call of Duty players are getting a bit cheesed off over new skins that demand two bundles to complete their collection.

Call of Duty's microtransaction plan is already brutal, with the game's premium bundles being earmarked around the $30 mark.

Inflation has already been capped as bundles try to exceed the 3,000 CoD Points barrier and edge over half the price of the game itself, although fan backlash soon put a stop to that.

But the latest wave of increased expenditure comes with skins that are locked behind two bundles, meaning you have to fork out twice as much money just to cop a bonus skin.

Another double-bundle skin arrives in Call of Duty

A new trend arrived with the most recent Dune crossover in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, as Activision decided that an additional skin should be locked behind two paywalls, making you buy twice as many bundles to be able to unlock one Operator outfit.

The Dune collab marked this by releasing the Paul Atreides Fedaykin Stealth Suit skin, which required you to buy both previously-released bundles (Paul Atreides and Harkonnen Pack) worth a combined 4,800CP (2,400 each), costing $40.

Now, the same has appeared with the new Japanese food bundles (Instant Noods and Wagyu), which are priced at 1,800CP and 1,600CP respectively, and require both to be purchased if you want the exclusive Hunger Pains Operator.

Call of Duty players are getting sick of two-bundle skins

With this trend coming into play for the second time now, and outside of a major collaboration, players are quickly objecting two-bundle skins, sick of being gatekept away from cooler Operators.

In a Reddit thread which dubbed the new Hunger Pains Operator as "wrong", one fan called it "such a shame, jet's skin looks pretty good, too bad it's behind 2 paywalls."

"It’s a total disgrace. I think 2400 for each bundle is far too much but to have one skin locked behind the purchase of multiple bundles is disgusting," a second added.

Others wondered just how far Activision plans on taking this.

"I'm curious if there's a ceiling or at some point we're going to get $100 skins," another fan quizzed.

The Hunger Pains skin is actually rather cool, but to flex this in-game is an addition that you forked out a tonne of cash, and the anime figure might be more of a red flag than a flex.
