Lightsabers are, as you can probably imagine, quite powerful tools in LEGO Fortnite, so what better way to celebrate the game's recent Star Wars integration than getting one yourself?

Given their power you'll understandably have to undertake a few tasks before you get your own, but the effort is well worth it as you roam through the different biomes and increase your village rating.

How to get a lightsaber

You can earn your very own lightsaber after your Rebel Headquarters reaches level 10. To do this, you'll first want to find a crash site, receive a pair of Macrobinoculars, and then use them to locate the nearby Rebel Village.

Once you've found the village you'll want to complete any of the objectives tied to the hub area, which typically include rebuilding structures and gathering materials.

It won't then be long until a lightsaber is in your hands, so make sure to assist the Rebel cause before the Empire takes over!

Alternatively, you can also simply just head into Sandbox mode, open the item menu, and then equip it from there. This will let you access all three lightsaber colours (blue, green, red), alongside any of the other new Star Wars crossover items.

How to use a lightsaber

Once you've got your hands on a lightsaber, all you need to do to use it is equip it to your inventory like you would any other weapon. It functions like a very powerful sword and can deal heavy damage to just about anything you manage to slice at.

It does, like many of the other tools, have a resource bar that drains with use, so make sure that you're keeping an eye on this as the last thing you'll want is for your weapon to be rendered unusable in the middle of a battle!
