Escape From Tarkov is still going strong months after the most recent wipe, and while Twitch viewership might be down, the player base is as strong as ever.

This shows the dedication that players have for the game, as even months after the latest update there's still a strong number of players logging in each day. For all the details, check out the stats and figures below.

Escape From Tarkov monthly player count in May 2024

According to ActivePlayer.io, Escape From Tarkov has roughly 2.25 million average players over the past 30 days. This monthly average tends to jump up and down depending on recent updates, but it has remained relatively consistent these past few months.

While player numbers have been naturally declining since the start of the 0.14 wipe back in late December 2023, there has also been a bit of a bigger dropoff in the past month due to controversies surrounding the new 'Unheard Edition' of this game.

There has been quite significant pushback from the community and content creators surrounding the release of this new premium package, and many players have stopped playing the game in either protest or frustration - and oftentimes both.

The numbers do still remain strong though and it doesn't seem like too many players have jumped ship - although only time will tell how much this will affect the playerbase.

After all, the new armour hitboxes and resurgence of fan favourite meta weapons have made the game more popular and arguably more enjoyable than ever - which I argued for back when the last wipe dropped.

These are of course unofficial numbers, as Battlestate Games does not publish these details, but this estimate does line up with the Twitch viewership relative to other FPS games.

Daily player count in April 2024

The Escape From Tarkov average daily player count coming in April is currently 605,410. This is among the highest daily player numbers that the game has had, and shows that - despite the negative feedback - more people than ever before are enjoying what Tarkov has to offer.

We cannot say for sure what the exact player numbers are though, as the game runs through its own launcher, so tools like Steamdb are not available.

Twitch viewership for Escape From Tarkov

According to TwitchTracker, the average viewership on Twitch for Escape From Tarkov over the past seven days has been 19,122, coming in as the 22nd most-viewed game on the site in that timeframe.

We've seen a downward trend of viewership since January, which is when the last wipe took place. The drop-off is expected, as the months go on after a wipe there is inevitably less and less interest.

Escape from Tarkov still remains one of the best-performing games on Twitch though, pulling in consistent numbers every single month no matter what period of the game cycle we're in.

As you can see from the graph above, Escape From Tarkov has huge viewership spikes at certain points in the year, which are unsurprisingly after every wipe.

The Escape From Tarkov peak concurrent viewership is 566,684 viewers, which was achieved on January 7, 2023.
