Want to know more about XDefiant? XDefiant is an upcoming free-to-play first-person shooter that bridges the gaps between several Ubisoft properties.

We have a bunch of details, including gameplay and all the trailers so far. Here is everything we currently know about XDefiant.

We still don't know when XDefiant is due out, but Open Session betas have already taken place and many players have been trying the game out for themselves. This does not mean the game is done by any stretch, but it is a good indication of how things are going.

As we will discuss below, there are plenty of features coming to the game that are present in the XDefiant beta. The beta includes all five game modes, 14 maps, four factions, and 24 weapons.

The first mention of XDefiant came in July 2021. The reveal trailer gave players an idea of what the game was about, a competitive online FPS with factions derived from various Ubisoft Tom Clancy games.

Then in April 2023, we got three more trailers; a gameplay overview with a more in-depth look than the reveal trailer, a maps and modes trailer which showed off the locales and modes of the game, and a more cinematic comeback trailer.

As mentioned above, XDefiant is a free-to-play online multiplayer first-person shooter. Very much in the same vein as Call of Duty, in fact, XDefiant is already being hailed as the Call of Duty killer. It features similar gunplay, movement, and much more.

What sets XDefiant apart is the faction system. Each faction comes from another Ubisoft property, such as Dedsec from Watch Dogs, Libertad from Far Cry 6, or Echelon from Splinter Cell. Each faction has two unique abilities you can bring into battle, so choosing which one to use is vital for your loadout.

The weapons of XDefiant are all based on real weaponry, making them familiar to fans of modern shooters. The maps are a variety of locales from across Ubisoft games, and vary from fishing villages to corporate offices.

Game modes for XDefiant are a mix of many of the most popular FPS modes of the last few years, and the last few decades. You have classics like Domination, where teams need to secure objectives to earn points, as well as attack/defend modes similar to Overwatch and Counter-Strike.

Anyone who has had an eye on XDefiant and is wondering if they will be able to play it, rest assured you likely will. XDefiant is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and PC via Ubisoft Connect.

When the game does launch it will be free to play, so you won't even need to worry about paying for it. There will likely be microtransactions, and we know there will be seasons so likely a seasonal battle pass as well.

That is everything we currently have on XDefiant. For more on the game, check out how to earn Twitch drops for XDefiant.
