When creating your character, you'll get the option of some backgrounds which change some of the stats you begin with. For the Stabbomancer, only the Village Idiot and Raised by Elves backgrounds are worth choosing. The first will give an extra eight Strength which increases your critical hit damage by 10% while reducing your Intelligence by three, which increases your spell cooldowns. The second option will let you start an extra two Dexterity, making for a 4% improvement to critical hit chance, but your max health will be lowered by 10%. 

The two main stats you'll want to focus on are Strength and Dexterity due to their effects on crit damage and chance, with the occasional point in Attunement to lower the cooldown of your powerful abilities and let you deal more consistent damage.

Firstly, you'll want to choose the action skill called From the Shadow, which lets you turn invisible for eight seconds, while all your damage automatically triggers critical hits, though with -25% critical damage. Even with the lowered crit damage, the amount of DPS you can put out with this ability is insane as the game goes on and your general crit damage is raised.

In the first tier of the Stabbomancer abilities, you'll want to max out both Arsenal and Haste. Every point of Arsenal will raise your melee, spell, and gun damage by 3% for a total of 15%. Haste on the other hand will increase your melee attack speed and movement speed by 4% each time, maxing at 12% each. This bonus is also doubled for 12 seconds whenever you cast a spell. 

For tier two, maxing out Swift Death is imperative to this build. This lets you deal more damage the faster you move, with it increasing by 2% at the default walk speed. In tier three you can gain the Kill Skill called Shadow Step. This makes your next melee attack deal guaranteed critical hit damage.

Tier four gives you the chance to gain a whole host of new damage thanks to Sneak Attack and Elusive. Sneak Attack has five levels, and should be maxed out as it will increases your critical hit damage by a total of 15%. Elusive is a key skill that gels well with Swift Death, as you'll gain the ability to spring and shoot at the same time, while also giving you a chance of evading incoming damage that also increases as you gain speed.


Tier five will see you max out another skill called A Thousand Cuts. This skill increases your damage for every critical hit you make, stacking up to 25 times. At max level, each stack is a damage increase of 1%, totalling 25% when at full stack for 12 seconds. 

For the final skill of the Stabbomancer tree, you can finally grab Executioner's Blade. This gives every gun and spell critical hit a 20% chance of spawning an ethereal blade that can impale the target after a few seconds. With all the above abilities you should be doing a tonne of critical damage pretty often, and by that point, you should have a hold of some of the better weapons to take advantage of your stats.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands lets you multiclass once you reach a certain threshold in the story. After finishing the Emotion of the Ocean mission, you can then choose a second class, and at level 18, you can then choose a second action skill, either taking from the same class or your second choice. You also gain access to both class feats, and we've decided to combine the Stabbomancer build above with the Spellshot.

The first tier of the Spellshot class has an ability called Spell Sniper which lets you increase the critical chance of your spells, so this is important to max out. There is also Prestidigtation which gives you a flat reload speed increase with every level. 

Tier two also has an important skill called Font of Mana, which decreases the cooldowns of all your spells and action skills, allowing you to get your powerful abilities online much quicker. You likely won't be able to max this skill as you'll run out of levels, but you can always experiment with some of the skills from both classes to create something that suits you.
