If you would like to know how to save Jacob in the Quarry, here are some tips for you to follow. The Quarry features a cast of characters trying to survive a horrific encounter, and their success depends on your choices. Jacob is the stereotypical jock in a horror movie, he tends to cause more issues than he solves. If you want to save him from himself, here is how to save Jacob in the Quarry.

It goes without saying, there will be some big old spoilers in this guide, so consider yourself warned. Also, we are covering the big moments here, in other words, the times when Jacob could die. There are so many different parameters in the game, and so many ways paths can diverge. Small decisions can have big consequences.

While making the right decision is important, you also need to pass skill checks. Quick-time events and other reaction tests can affect the outcomes of some scenarios. Everything might not line up perfectly, but at the very least if you follow the following instructions, Jacob should make it out of Hackett’s Quarry relatively intact.

The first time Jacob can die only happens if you make a pretty unfortunate mistake. After Nick is attacked, Jacob hears Abi scream and runs into the woods to help. Shortly after this, you will be back at the fire pit playing as Ryan. Something is moving in the woods, and Ryan can, if you choose to, fire the shotgun into the bushes. I shouldn’t need to tell you how much of a bad idea that is.

If Ryan shoots into the bushes the second time, he will shoot and kill Jacob. Now, Jacob dying unceremoniously in a bush, never being seen again for the rest of the game is morbidly hilarious, but the poor lad doesn’t deserve it so try not to fire for no reason. Don’t fire, and Jacob will emerge and rejoin the group.

Jacob spends a considerable amount of the game running around the woods in his underwear. After he leaves the group to go find Emma, he will get caught in a snare trap. Bobby will arrive and cut him down. While on the ground, take the opportunity to throw dirt in Bobby’s face to give Jacob the chance to get away.

After Jacob finds Emma, they will be attacked by a werewolf. They will run for it, and run for it is what you need to do. Whatever happens, just keep running. Jacob will find himself in a field of bear traps and, because he’s Jacob, he will stand in one. Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do for the lad now only wait to be captured. When he wakes up, Jacob is being dragged by Bobby into a cage, right across from the now fully werewolf Nick.

Jacob will have to stay in the electrified cage until Ryan and Laura show up. When they do, it is up to Ryan to get him out. Jacob tells Ryan there is a box on the wall that controls the cages, so Ryan needs to figure out how to get Jacob out without letting out werewolf Nick. There are several switches in the box, and pulling the wrong ones can have disastrous consequences.

Thankfully, the switches are labelled, but selecting them in the wrong order can lead to Jacob's death. The correct order to choose is to pull switch number one, then number two to open the main gate. Then pull switch number two and switch number three to open Jacob's door. This will get him out safe and sound, and he will be free to leave the area through the caves.

With that, you have guaranteed his safety and learned how to save Jacob in The Quarry. For more tips, why not check out how to save Emma in The Quarry.
