The Best Perks To Use In Modern Warfare Multiplayer
Modern Warfare isn’t a traditional entry in the Call of Duty series. The game emphasises realism, and part of that has meant sacrificing some areas. One of these areas is within the perks department, as Infinity Ward has opted for less powerful abilities. An example of this is 'Dead Silence' being in the Field Upgrade category, rather than the perk slots. However, there are definitely still some useful perks within Modern Warfare that can help you win. You just have to know which ones to use.
Best Perks Modern Warfare (Category 1)
Last week, Infinity Ward changed up the perk system a tiny bit in Modern Warfare. With this update, Overkill and Kill Chain have swapped places, with the latter now in the Perk 1 category.
While this did change the meta up, it doesn’t affect your perk 1 slot too dramatically. The best perks to use in the slot are still Double Time and E.O.D. This hasn’t changed much since the beginning of the game, seeing as these two perks are among the strongest in the game.
Double Time doubles your Tactical Sprint duration, which is a useful trait for aggressive players. Using this on a submachine gun or shotgun class is the best option. E.O.D., on the other hand, helps out with surviving enemy explosives and allows you to hack enemy equipment. This is a good perk for any class.
Best Perks Modern Warfare (Category 2)
As aforementioned, the Perk 2 slot was changed with a recent update. Now, Overkill slides in next to perks like Hardline, Ghost, and Pointman.
Out of the above perks, Ghost and Hardline are going to be your best bet. Effective for players of all skill levels, Ghost could be considered a crutch perk since having a UAV in the air is so helpful in Modern Warfare. With Ghost on, you can stay off the map entirely unless the opponents have an Advanced UAV active.
As for Hardline, this is one of the oldest perks in Call of Duty. It simply reduces the cost of your killstreaks by one. While you can use Pointman when playing objective game modes, Hardline is helpful for all modes.
Of course, you can also use Overkill if you plan to use a sniper rifle or shotgun and don’t want to be saddled with a pistol for a secondary weapon.
Best Perks Modern Warfare (Category 3)
Perhaps the most lop-sided category is category there. There aren’t a ton of viable options within the Perk 3 slot. Essentially, Battle-Hardened is going to be your best friend when it comes to selecting a perk 3.
Battle-Hardened reduces the strength of enemy flash and stun grenades, as well as EMP effects. Since every opponent you’ll face likely has a flash or stun grenade, this perk comes in very handy.
If you don’t want to go that route, however, you can use Tracker, which leaves behind a trail of enemy footsteps for you to follow. This is especially helpful in objective game modes when you need to know exactly where the enemies are located.
