The Splitgate player count is the topic of discussions aplenty right now, because the brand new multiplayer shooter has had long server queues for players to get in recently. Splitgate: Arena Warfare combines the shooting mechanics of Halo with the mind-bending traversal of Portal to create a game like no other, but unfortunately it's been a struggle to even play it in the last week or two. The Splitgate player count has absolutely exploded, but just how many players does Splitgate have?

Fans are clamouring to get into the arena, as reports have shown that many are waiting up to 90 minutes to get into lobbies due to the unprecedented demand for the game. Splitgate’s open beta is smashing it, and players are having a great time chucking grenades through gaps in space, but exactly how many of those players are there? Here's everything we know about the current Splitgate player count.

According to SteamCharts, at the time of writing, Splitgate has received a peak of 65,752 concurrent players, which peaked on August 4. But it’s unlikely it’ll stay this way for long, as the team behind the game are working on expanding servers and welcoming more players into the arena, so expect the Splitgate player count to continue growing.

There’s no real proof of overall players across Splitgate’s open beta on Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, but a developer has indicated an estimation of the sheer number of players who have joined the beta.

In a TikTok video from user "purception", developer CardinalSoldier said “The kind of growth we’re experiencing is honestly kinda hard to believe. I mean, we’ve gone from literally 400 concurrent to over 200,000 concurrent on Tuesday, in a matter of three weeks. [...] By no means did we think this would happen.”

So while there’s no way of narrowing all of this down to a simple number, 200,000 is more than triple the maximum concurrents on Steam, so it's safe to say that console players are accounting for most of the current Splitgate player count.

Splitgate is on track to be a massive hit if they can keep hype up through their beta - and chances are, these numbers are only going to get bigger and bigger. Keep your eyes on GGRecon as we cover more Splitgate news and guides.
