RoboCop Rogue City is the dream RoboCop game that fans of the 80s classic have been waiting for since, well, forever. It was announced back at NACON Connect 2021, before finally getting a gameplay reveal in July 2022 that seemed to capture the series' atmosphere and show off bloody first-person gameplay.

The developer, Teyon, has made a name for itself recently by lovingly creating video game adaptions of 80's action films like Rambo and Terminator. RoboCop Rogue City seems to be its most ambitious project yet, so read on for all the information we have on the release date, trailers, gameplay, and more.

Is there a RoboCop Rogue City release date?

As shared in a post on the official Twitter page, RoboCop Rogue City has a release date of November 2, 2023, meaning there's not much longer for fans to wait for the upcoming game!

RoboCop Rogue City trailers

The RoboCop Rogue City announcement trailer came during NACON Connect 2021. It was a simple teaser that had some voice-over of a news report that talked about the rise in crime in Detroit, before panning over the RoboCop logo and finally revealing it. It ended with a short scene of RoboCop's trademark Auto-9 firearm appearing out of the side of his leg.

The next trailer came during NACON Connect 2022, revealing far more about the tone of and story of the game, while also showing gameplay. It started with a similar voice-over to the teaser trailer that talked about the rising crime rate in Detroit along with the deaths of over 20 police officers. It showed a series of environments in engine before cutting to actual first-person gameplay as RoboCop fights tonnes of criminals and even a large mech.

Perhaps the biggest reveal of the trailer was the end scene, as we see RoboCop without his mask walking toward the camera. It's shown to be the face model of the original actor Peter Weller, who also then delivers the iconic line - "dead or alive, you are coming with me."

Following that, in late August, fans got an additional look into the RoboCop journey with a 'Part Man, Part Machine' trailer. In it, a little more gameplay was showcased, with intense combat and sections showcasing RoboCop scanning particular areas within a scene.

Alongside it, we hear Dr. Olivia Blanche asking RoboCop that he has been referred to as different names, and as to which one he refers. Before the trailer ends, we hear him respond with "My name is..." before the audio ends on a cliffhanger.

The latest trailer for RoboCop Rogue City arrived in October 2023, showing off the RPG side of gameplay alongside the skill trees you'll be able to use to unlock different abilities to utilise in combat. That's not all, though, as it additionally mentions that completing certain policing duties as RoboCop will help you to achieve a higher mission rating overall.

We still don't know a huge amount about the gameplay yet, with the two gameplay and 'Choices Matter' trailers being our main insights into the game. The first-person gameplay seems to feature a targeting system that's based on the film, where a green crosshair will allow you to scan things like blood and hone in on an enemy to focus your weapon on them.

RoboCop has the ability to interact with the environment and enemies, as a scene shows him kicking a large dumpster at criminals before picking one up and throwing them. There is also a focus on gore, which the original film highlighted to comical levels, as a few enemies get their heads blown up after being shot.

Whether the game will be level-based, or there will be a hub world that you can explore is unknown at the moment, but the latest trailer did mention mission ratings. We also don't know where in the RoboCop timeline it will take place just as of yet.

What platforms will RoboCop Rogue City be on?

RoboCop Rogue City is set for a wide release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC
