For those trying to figure out how to download the Rainbow Six Extraction trial, you may be wondering how long you get to play with friends. Announced prior to the game's release, Extraction features a Buddy Pass system, which allows someone who owns the game to play with two other friends across a span of two weeks. Sadly, just before the game's launch, Ubisoft announced that it was delaying the launch of the Buddy Pass to ensure a smooth rollout. At this point, it has been the best part of a week without Buddy Pass, and we'd expect it to be added any day. However, at the time of writing (January 24), the feature still isn't available. We will be sure to keep this article updated as we learn more about Buddy Pass' eventual inclusion in the main game, so keep an eye on this.

How To Download Rainbow Six Extraction Trial: The Trial Version

Buddy Pass isn't the only way to play Rainbow Six Extraction for free, as Ubisoft has also released a trial version of the game. This trial version will allow you to play just two hours of the game, but with save progression carrying over if you decide to buy the full game, it's a good way to get a taste of how much you enjoy it. To access the trial, you must open the game's page on any platform store of your choice, and choose to download the trial. This is usually available as an option next to the purchases tab, or by selecting the three-dotted dropdown menu. 

The trial version can also be partnered up with the Buddy Pass (when it eventually arrives) and will freeze the timer on your two-hour trial. When playing on your own you will be able to access all of the game's launch content, however, you won't unlock the later game material due to your time constraints.
