Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are not the first games to use this system, as the series has had this mechanic since quite early on. Mystery Gift codes come along every now and then, often coinciding with an important event or anniversary. The Mystery Gift system has been part of the Pokemon franchise for years, but how it works regularly changes. In order to access the Mystery Gift system, here are the things you need to do.

• Press X to bring up the menu
• Select Poke Portal (If it is not yet available, it unlocks early in the game)
• Select Get Via Internet or Get Via Code

The choice is determined by which Mystery Gift you are trying to redeem. Get Via Internet will give you any currently available Mystery Gifts that do not require a code or any other method of redemption. Get Via Code is where you input any codes you have.
