Not sure how to unlock characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl? You're not the only one. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has finally been revealed to big fanfare in pockets of Nickelodeon fans, and a competitive scene is already beginning to take shape. Of all of the last decade’s Super Smash Bros clones, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is probably the most likely to succeed, carried to great heights by its iconography and a huge cast of characters invited to clatter each other in a bid for your nostalgia bucks. But, as the characters are the driving force of the game, it begs the question - how exactly do you unlock characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl?

As it turns out, there’s no ‘unlocking’ so far - each of the game’s characters will be available to you out of the gate. In whichever game mode you’d like to play, you can choose from the game’s list of characters completely for free and choose your favourite without having to complete any tasks beforehand. Our Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl tier list does explain who the best characters are though, so you know who to pick.

The case for unlocking characters might be different, however, for the upcoming DLC fighters that we could see join the game very soon indeed.

As it so happens, the game is gearing up to launch some bonus DLC characters. A recent leak has suggested that many of the following will be joining the game:

  • Garfield
  • Shredder
  • Jimmy Neutron
  • Plankton
  • Mr. Krabs
  • Squidward
  • Vlad Plasmius
  • Tommy Pickles
  • Zuko
  • Rocco
  • Chuckie Finster
  • Cindy Vortex
  • Dark Danny
  • Donatello
  • Donnie Thornberry
  • Eliza Thornberry
  • Dilbert

Who knows when these characters will arrive, but we imagine they’ll be paid additions to the title - so if you’re in the market of unlocking new characters for the game, you’re going to have to do it with your wallet.

The game is perfect for DLC additions, so fingers crossed they’re coming soon - and not all too expensive, either.
