Minecraft 1.18 Update: Release
Click to enlargeThe Minecraft 1.18 update is available on the PC Java version of the game now, while the Minecraft 2.34 update is available on all Bedrock platforms: Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC if you're playing the alternate version. Players will be able to download the update for free if they own the game, with the download coming in at around 200mb. Game Pass subscribers are able to download the entire game for free on either Xbox or PC. This marks the second part of what was originally intended to be one big update, however Caves and Cliffs Part 1 released earlier this year.
Minecraft 1.18 Update: New Features

- Increased the world height and depth, adding 50% more vertical space to build and explore.
- New cave generation to explore below your existing world.
- New cave and mountain biomes like Lush Caves and Jagged Peaks.
- Drastically updated biome, cave and ore generation.
- Added several new music tracks during gameplay
- A fix to over 70 bugs, issues and parity changes.
With that 50% additional vertical space, not only can you build higher than ever before, but the new mountainous biomes can also be far more epic. And with generated caves updating into your existing servers, you'll have a whole new rank of environments to explore and build in.
