Bel’Veth comes into League of Legends as the game’s 160th champion and is a ruthless attack-speed-based jungler that if allowed to scale into the late game, will take control very quickly, leaving the enemy team hopeless to stop her.

She brings a lot of depth into her basic abilities with high mobility, pre-level 6 CC, and tons of damage that can take anybody by surprise in the early phases of the game. Additionally, Bel’Veth also scales incredibly well with attack speed as the stat benefits her abilities and kit as a whole. To top it all off, she possesses an incredibly high amount of single target damage but also isn’t shy to show off some AoE as well.

Knowing all of this may get you wondering: How do you build the Void Empress? That’s where we come in.

Here’s our League of Legends Bel’Veth Build Guide.

League Of Legends Bel’Veth Abilities

To start off let's take a look at Bel’Veth’s abilities to better understand what you’re dealing with.

Passive - Death in Lavender

After using an ability, Bel'Veth’s next 2 attacks have increased attack speed. Additionally, whenever Bel'veth takes down a large monster or champion she gains permanent bonus Attack speed in the form of Lavender stacks. Bel'Veth attacks faster than normal and does not have an attack speed cap, however, her attacks and on-hit effects deal reduced damage and she does not gain attack speed on level up.

Q - Void Surge

Bel'Veth dashes in one of four directions, dealing damage to all enemies she passes through and applying on-hit effects. Each direction has its own unique cooldown that scales with attack speed.

W - Above and Below

Bel’Veth slams her tail down, dealing damage, knocking up, and slowing enemies hit. Upon hitting an enemy champion, this ability reduces Q - Void Surge’s dash cooldown in the direction of the champion hit.

E - Royal Maelstrom

Bel’Veth channels a storm of slashes around her, gaining damage reduction and increased life steal. Each slash strikes the lowest health enemy within her Maelstrom, dealing more damage the more health they are missing. The amount of slashes scales with her attack speed.

R - Endless Banquet

Passive: Every second attack against the same target deals additional True Damage, stacking infinitely. Takedowns against Epic Monsters and Champions leave behind a piece of Void Coral. Epic Monsters from the Void like Rift Herald and Baron Nashor drop special Void Coral.

Active: Bel’veth consumes a piece of Void Coral and explodes, slowing and dealing True Damage to nearby enemies based on their missing health. Upon consuming Void Coral, Bel’Veth temporarily changes into her True Form. Consuming Void Coral left by Epic Monsters from the Void (Rift Herald and Baron Nashor) grants Bel'Veth her true form for an extended duration and causes minions that die in her presence to be reborn as faithful Voidlings. Voidlings are small minions that will serve Bel’Veth by marching down the lane in which they were spawned.

True Form: When Bel’Veth unleashes her True Form, she gains increased max health, out-of-combat move speed, attack range, and total attack speed. While in her True Form, she also gains the ability to dash through walls with Q - Void Surge.

League Of Legends Bel'Veth Best Runes

Like we mentioned before, Bel’Veth is a monster with attack speed, as with it the champion’s kit as a whole will get enhanced—we’ll want to supplement that. As it stands, there are two builds that can do that: one that makes use of Conqueror and its Adaptive Force and another that further bolsters her attack speed in Lethal Tempo.

Here are how Runes are set up for each build.

As you can see, apart from the first and main Keystone, not much differentiates when it comes to the rest of the Runes you’d choose. This is especially the case when it comes to your Offense, Flex, and Defense choices as they ultimately depend on the enemy champions you’re facing.

It’s worth noting that combined with the main Keystone of choosing, Triumph and Legend: Alacrity will help Bel’Veth scale into the late game smoothly.

League Of Legends Bel'Veth Best Items

Just like how we want to supplement Bel’Veth’s attack speed usefulness with Runes, we’ll want to do the same with the Items.

There are two ways to go about it: a Kraken Slayer start or an Immortal Shieldbow start. Kraken Slayer will be for those players who look to do more damage off the rip. It’ll help shred any enemy champion in your way—including tanks—and will just make you an absolute damage fiend on the Rift. On the flip side, if you’re looking to still do significant amounts of damage but want some survivability, go with Immortal Shieldbow. This item helps with Bel’Veth’s relatively weak tankiness.

From there, you’ll want to look at boots. You’ll want to choose either Plated Steelcaps or Mercury’s Treads. Just like our Runes bit where we mentioned how it’s enemy champion dependant, you’ll want to do the same here. If you feel like you’re dying way too quickly, Plated Steelcaps is the choice, if you feel like you’re being CCed for too long or far too often, then Mercury’s Treads are for you.

Moving on, the second item you’ll want to build is Blade of the Ruined King. This item is bar none the best second item one can build on Bel’Veth as not only does it give you attack speed, its on-hit effect just synergizes too well with the Empress’ kit.

That will be followed up by your third item that we’d classify as a “situational item.” This means that, as our Runes and Boots mentions earlier, you’d pick this item depending on what you’re facing or even on preference. Items like Death’s Dance, Wit’s End, and Guinsoo’s Rageblade all come to mind. The former in the list gives Bel’Veth more tankiness while the latter two look to give her even more attack speed.

Finally, in your last two slots, you can go one of two ways, more damage via attack speed or more tankiness so you can make sure you live long enough to see your foes falter.

Here is a list of items that would work:

  • Titanic Hydra
  • Maw of Malmortius
  • Guardian Angel
  • Spirit Visage
  • Trinity Force
  • Randuin’s Omen

And that's it! With this guide, you should be able to dominate the Rift as Bel'Veth in no time.
