How To Unlock Storm's Punk Style And Gale Force Emote

Ororo Munroe (famously known as Storm) is one of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 4's featured skins. The Marvel superhero comes with a whole batch of cosmetics, including skin styles and her very own emote. Perhaps the most desired of these items is Storm's Punk style and the Gale Force emote. These two cosmetics require completing a series of specific challenges revolving around Storm.
In this guide, we will highlight exactly how to unlock Storm's Punk Style And Gale Force Emote. Additionally, we'll run readers through some tips and tricks related to each challenge so that you can show off these majestic cosmetics as soon as possible.
Unlocking Storm's Punk Style
Punk is a much more casual punk-rock style variant of the Storm skin. There are two prerequisites before you can drop into action as the Goddess of Elements — and mohawks.
First, players must reach level 53 in the Chapter 2 - Season 4 Battle Pass. This will unlock the standard Storm skin. Battle Pass tiers can be purchased for V-Bucks, but most players choose to progress through it the old fashion way. Each tier of the Battle Pass requires a certain amount of XP to level it up. XP can be earned through a wide variety of methods. Daily and Weekly challenges, XP Coins, Punch Cards, and normal gameplay all reward XP toward the Battle Pass. If you're looking for help on the Weekly challenges, check out our Weekly Challenge Guide.
Unfortunately, the second step required to unlock the Punk style is not yet achievable. Players must complete ten total Weekly challenges from Week 3 and 4. Unless you're a time traveller, this is not yet possible. Week 3 is the earliest players will be able to equip this special variant.
Check back here in a week. We will update this piece with our Week 3 and 4 Challenge Guides.
Unlocking Storm's Gale Force Emote
Unlike the Punk style, the Gale Force emote can be unlocked right now. The Gale Force emote becomes available at tier 60 of the Battle Pass. Reaching tier 60 will unlock Storm's exclusive Awakening Challenges. Players must complete all three Awakening Challenges to unlock the emote. All of these challenges require that the player is wearing the Storm skin.
The three challenges are as follows:
- Visit Weather Station as Storm
- Ride the Steamy Stacks in the Storm as Storm
- Emote as Storm at the Center of the Eye of the Storm

Visit Weather Station as Storm
Appropriately, all of Storm’s Awakening Challenges have something to do with either the actual storm or weather in general. The first challenge requires players to visit Weather Station, an unnamed POI directly south of Catty Corner. The Weather Station is atop the large snowy mountain. Reference our map above for the Weather Station’s exact location.
The quickest way to complete this challenge is to simply hot-drop on Weather Station. Players will receive credit for this challenge the second their character’s feet touch the ground. Remember: you must be wearing the Storm skin.
It shouldn’t be too much of an issue, but watch out for other players going after the same challenge.
Ride the Steamy Stacks in the Storm as Storm
The second challenge is more annoying than it is difficult. Players are required to fly inside one of the two massive pipes within the Steamy Stacks POI. However, the catch is that players must at the same time, be inside of the actual storm encasing the map.
This challenge can be completed in any game mode. However, keep in mind that completing this challenge essentially requires sacrificing the match. Players must wait at Steamy Stacks until the purple storm begins to collapse. This can take a while, and means that you won’t be able to move on, loot, and secure a better position. Once you have begun to take storm damage, hop inside of one of the fan-fueled pipes and soar into the sky.
Emote as Storm at the Center of the Eye of the Storm
This final challenge requires a little bit of planning. Players must perform an emote in the centre of the storm while donning the Storm skin.
Obviously, the storm circle changes each game. This means there is no set “Eye of the Storm”. Players will need to use their map to locate the centre. Land somewhere safe and open the map once the first storm cycle begins. Approximate where the centre of the circle would be and place a marker as close to it as possible. Team Rumble works well for this challenge, as the dotted line splitting the map makes it easy to guestimate the middle. Make your way to the marker; ensure you get there before the next storm cycle starts.
As you get close, you should see a thick purple beam shooting straight up from the ground. At ground level, there will be a large emblem resembling an XP Coin. Lastly, perform any emote while standing on the emblem. You’ll know the challenge is complete if Storm’s Cloak appears on your back.
Congratulations! Storm’s Awakening Challenges have been completed. You can finally harness the power of the storm.
