How To Get Katarina For Free In League of Legends: Wild Rift

Riot Games has recently added a brand-new champion named Katarina in the League of Legends: Wild Rift 2.1a update. Katarina is a Noxian assassin who is played usually in the mid lane as she is an assassin who does magic damage. In addition to this, she also plays the role of support in Baron Lane, although the chances are rare. Katarina was teased with the announcement of Wild Rift’s Season 1 and is a deadly champion who deals with high damage and has amazing mobility.

Katarina has been made available in the League of Legends: Wild Rift in-game store and can be purchased for 5,500 Blue Motes or 725 Wild Cores. But if you don’t have enough of them, you can get her for free by completing the newly added event in the game, Katarina’s Challenge.

To get Katarina for free, you need to complete time-limited missions available in Katarina’s Challenge event, which has already begun and will go on till March 10, 2021 (23:59 UTC). Here is the complete list of the missions and their objectives that you need to complete:

Missions and Objectives

Double Take

Objectives: Get 40 takedowns or Get five double kills
Rewards: 150 Blue Motes

A Cut Above The Rest

Objectives: Play five games or Play two games using assassin champions
Rewards: 2 XP Boosts

For The Empire

Objectives: Play five games or Win two games with at least one Noxian champion on your team
Rewards: 150 Blue Motes

The Blade Is Mightier

Objectives: Deal 30,000 magic damage
Rewards: 150 Blue Motes

Blink and Dive

Objectives: Kill 1,000 Minions with your team or Inflict grievous wounds on enemy champions 20 times
Rewards: 50 Poro Coins

Never Hesitate

Objectives: Get 50 takedowns or Play two games using mage champions
Rewards: 150 Blue Motes

It Takes Two

Objectives: Play 5 games or Win 1 game where Garen is on the enemy team
Rewards: Katarina (champion)

Along with the default skin, Katarina comes with two more skins known as the Death Sworn Katarina and Bilgewater Katarina. You can purchase the whole Katarina Release Set for 2077 Wild Cores from the in-game item store, including the champion and its skins.

Katarina’s Abilities

Like almost every other champion in League of Legends: Wild Rift, Katarina has one passive ability and three active ability along with one ultimate ability:

Voracity (Passive) - Takedowns on enemy champions reduce ability Cooldowns by 15 seconds.

Bouncing Blade (Ability 1) - Throws a Dagger, dealing 75 magic damage to the target and two nearby enemies. The Dagger then ricochets to the ground behind the initial strike point.

Preparation (Ability 2) - Tosses a Dagger in the air and hastes Katarina by 30%

Shunpo (Ability 3) - Blink to a location near a Dagger or unit, dealing 44 magic damage to the nearest enemy.

Death Lotus (Ultimate Ability) - Rapidly throws blades at the three nearest enemy champions, dealing 350 magic damage and applying Grievous Wounds. Katarina can move and throw blades for up to three seconds.
