How long is Eastward? Eastward is an indie RPG and the latest title to come from producer Chucklefish, who also publish Stardew Valley. As you may expect from a team of such renown, it has been shaking the indie world up. The very first development effort from new team PixPil has taken the tired setting of the apocalypse and giving it an admittedly marvellous new lick of paint. It’s got a lovely story and incredible visual flair - more of that in our Eastward review - and it does all of this without breaking the bank. The question is however, how long is Eastward? And how many Eastward chapters are there? Let us investigate.

How Long Is Eastward?

How long is Eastward? Approximately 30 hours, give or take. That's if you focus on the main story. Eastward doesn't have side quests, but there is a lot of exploration to be done, people to speak to, and Eastward weapons to upgrade, so it's easy to spend time pottering around. There's also an entire game within the game - Earth Born. It's easy to whittle away the hours playing this retro metagame, so if you fancy completing all of that too, you could easily see your playtime jump up to 40 hours or more. When you consider the £20/$25 price point, there's a lot of game to be had.

How Many Chapters Are In Eastward?

How Long Is Eastward?

Eastward is divided into chapters, which means the story is split up into much more digestible chunks. It's a long old game, after all. They also show you how far along you are throughout the game - but that’s only if you know exactly how long the game is and how many Eastward chapters there are.

Eastward is made up of a prologue, and then 8 subsequent chapters. They’re all of varying length of course, especially if you're of the wandering type, but they’re roughly the same for the most part. Don’t worry about it being too much, though - you’ll blitz through the prologue in no time.

Eastward is a wonderful game, and luckily, there’s plenty to absorb and play too. Jump in, and we’ll see you on the other side in 30 hours’ time.
