The Halo Infinite Fusion Coil is back and better than ever, and there are plenty of new ways to use Halo's long-running version of the famous explosive barrel. Halo Infinite's Multiplayer has been out for a while now, and there is plenty of crazy stuff to do in this iteration of Spartan warfare. One of the most fun things to do by far is throwing the Fusion Coil at enemies, so if you want to know everything there is about the Halo Infinite Fusion Coil and how to get a kill with it, then read on.

The Fusion Coil is a returning element from previous Halo entries. It's always been used as a method of killing players or destroying vehicles with its massive explosive radius, but Halo Infinite gives players brand-new ways to utilise it.

Firstly, they can be picked up now and thrown. Pressing the interaction button on a Fusion Coil will allow you to pick it up like a Rugby ball, and then pressing the attack button will let you chuck it - and remember you're a Spartan, so you can throw them quite far, achieving cross map kills if you wish.

The explosive radius is decently big, and the damage can be massive, especially with a direct hit, which can insta-kill a Spartan. A Fusion Coils that lands near an enemy will instead just drop their shields, but that does leave them vulnerable to a follow-up shot. Alternatively, you can throw a Fusion Coil and shoot it out of the air with a well-placed shot, which can be used to kill Spartans mid-air or flying vehicles.

Lastly, one of the new equipment added to Halo Infinite can be used in conjunction with the Fusion Coil to great effect. If you equip a grapple, it's not just for easily getting your character to vertical positions as you can also use it to grab the coils and bring them to you, automatically equipping it ready to throw afterwards.

They're littered across pretty much every map in the game, but remember to get to them before someone else because once they've been blown up, they disappear.

One of the specific challenges for the Fusion Coil is to kill a Spartan by throwing one. Obviously, that means you can't just shoot one and blow it up to get your XP, meaning it will require some more effort. The best bet for this is by picking one up on a smaller map, and hiding until you find a good opportunity to throw one at an enemies back, which should take them out and finish the challenge.

If you're seeking achievements and can't find the Halo Infinite Mythic Medal, we have you covered, along with a breakdown of the best Halo Infinite weapons.
