Genshin Impact Version 2.7 Trailers And Gameplay

As seen from the trailer, the Chasm is a new area introduced to the game, with historic links to new character Yelan, who has been tasked to investigate this event and seems to have a personal interest in the matter. During the trailer the Traveler’s sibling seems to be trapped by a mysterious deep-voiced force, possibly the reason behind the Chasm’s existence.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7: Yelan

Yelan is a secret service agent that reports to Ningguang and keeps tabs on powerful people in Teyvat.  Described as an agent who gathers intel on dangerous missions, she is a Hydro user that is equipped with a bow that can inflict special charged shots of Hydro damage and can mark enemies.

Her past remains a mystery, with developers miHoYo expressing that players will have to delve into her story and special hangout event to learn more.  She owns her own tea house and has impressive acting skills that allow her to blend in with most people and social settings.

Yelan’s Talents

‘Breakthrough State’ is performed with her bow, it specifies that the next charged shot with her bow will have an increase to charge time and be able to inflict AEO damage.

Yelan can move rapidly using her lifeline. When rapid movement ends an explosion will be dealt, causing AEO damage.

As seen in the trailer, she can temporarily turn invisible, and can summon a spectral dice that will follow the character around and deal out successive attacks near them. The dice will then explode in a talent called ‘Elemental Burst’.

She has a passive Talent called ‘Turn Control’ which will raise the max HP of characters, depending on the number of different types of elements included in the party setup.

Genshin Impact Version 2.7: Kuki Shinobu

Kuki Shinobu is a melee and Electro user who belongs to the Arataki Gang, who she considers to be her family. Interestingly, her birth family come from a long line of Shrine Maidens to Narukami. Deciding to break from this tradition, she is a well-travelled character that has even studied law, before falling in with the Arataki Gang and finding her sense of belonging. From her time studying law, she became acquainted with Yanfei and has many skills at her disposal.

Kuki Shinobu: Talents

Kuki Shinobu has the ability of Electro Vision which heals teammates and deals Electro damage to enemies even when stationed off the battlefield. She has the unique ability to sacrifice her own HP to heal her allies, in a move called ‘Sanctifying Ring’ which is formed in a circle.

She has a passive ability called ‘Breaking Free’ which further increases HP if her own HP pool is low. Meaning HP management will be a big requirement when playing with her in your party.

Her last Talent is called ‘Elemental Burst’ which is essentially a shield that deals out Electro damage to nearby enemies.

  • To fully utilise Kuki Shinobu’s Electro Talents you’ll want to make sure you know how elements work in Genshin Impact. To do so, read our guide on Genshin Impact elements, and how to use their status effects.

Genshin Impact Four-star Characters Leak

This tweet comes from reliable leaker, UBatcha, who predicts that the next four-star characters to feature on the Yelan and Kuki Shinobu character banners will be:

  • Noelle
  • Barbara
  • Yanfei

miHoYo have not confirmed the four-star characters that will be featured as of writing, but as UBatcha has leaked previously accurate information such as the 2.7 update release date, this adds credence to this speculation. Also, this seems more possible when taking into account Kuki Shinobu's connection to Yanfei which was given a mention during the 2.7 update livestream. Stay tuned for more information as it releases.

Genshin Impact: Perilous Trail Event

This event will explore some of the origins of the Chasm and Yelan’s connection to it. During the announcement it was revealed that Xiao will also feature in this event, as a character that has a unique obsession with the Chasm.

During rounds, players will be required to shuffle their party members, with some rounds specifying that they may be only to keep one character and swap out the others. This means it will be vital for players to update many of their characters and level them up close to their mains. The Fading Twilight Bow is a four-star weapon that will be available during this special event.

Genshin Impact: A Muddy Bizarre Adventure Event

This event will also take place in the Chasm and will introduce a ‘Dark Mud’ mechanic that produces a status effect that drains character’s HP and limits their movement speed. With the Dark Mud comes new monsters to fight, and missions to complete. Of the new missions in this event, one was described as a mission to purify the area of the Dark Mud whilst escorting a hot air balloon out the Chasm.

Genshin Impact: New Rhythm Game

Amongst the announcements, a new rhythm game has been unveiled, this one using a drum in its quick time events. The game has three levels of difficulty, with the player being able to choose between them. HoYoverse have also chosen to implement system setting changes with this, allowing players to configure the decision line and lag calibration. This is meant to help people playing across differing platforms.

With the 2.7 update, the ability to create your own robots will be added to the game. The robots have different animations and appearances, of which the player will have to undergo processes to create. There is also the rare opportunity to unlock all animations for a singular robot.
