Fortnite Red and Blue Lines: What Do The Red And Blue Lines On The Fortnite Map Mean?
The red and blue lines on the Fortnite map mark the territory controlled by each faction. Areas on the map circled in red lines are occupied by the Imagined Order (IO) while land circled in blue lines is The Seven/Resistance territory.
Points of interest in IO territory come stocked with Titan Tanks and Siege Cannons and are heavily patrolled by hostile IO Guards. Furthermore, IO Blimps filled with loot, and in some cases, Bosses carrying Mythic weapons, hover overhead.
Visit land controlled by The Seven and the Resistance and you may find Armoured Battle Buses, friendly Sentry Guards, and Turrets.

Fortnite Red and Blue Lines: Territory War
The story of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 revolves around an all-out war between the IO and The Seven. As the battle wages on, the two factions are locked in a territorial dispute.
The Imagined Order's sneak attack has left them with control of the large majority of the island. Right now, the Resistance is stuck to the area around Sanctuary and other smaller outposts on the outskirts of the map.
As we progress through the season, faction ownership over the land territory on the island will change hands. The Resistance will move in on the IO and slowly but surely reclaim dominion over the centre of the island.
How will the Resistance and The Seven take back their land? We'll have to watch the war unfold and participate in the action through the related Season Quests.
So, now you know what the red and blue lines on the Fortnite map mean. There's a war going on across the island, with red lines representing IO territory and blue lines representing Resistance territory. The current layout isn't permanent though, so keep up with the action to see how the territory war plays out.
