Fortnite Operation Sky Fire Explained
Fortnite players have spent the entirety of Chapter 2 - Season 7 working undercover with the Imagined Order (IO) in hopes of saving the island from the alien onslaught. The conflict has reached its ultimate peak with the Mothership looming over Corny Complex and the IO headquarters. Operation: Sky Fire is our last-ditch effort to put a stop to these alien invaders once and for all.
According to Epic Games, Operation: Sky Fire will have Fortnite players "join a strike team and sneak aboard the Mothership to deliver IO’s final message to the invading Aliens." What will unfold next? We don’t know which party will come out victorious - but either way - Operation: Sky Fire will mark the end of Chapter 2 - Season 7 and the start of Fortnite Season 8.
Fortnite Operation Sky Fire Time, Date, And How To Join
Fortnite Operation: Sky Fire will launch at 9 PM BST (4 PM EST) on September 12. The Fortnite Operation: Sky Fire playlist will be made available 30 minutes prior to the official start time. Players that want to guarantee their spot for the Chapter 2 - Season 7 finale event may want to log in even earlier to make sure they secure a position before the servers completely fill up.
Up to 16 friends can party up for Operation: Sky Fire. Fortnite content creators will want to make sure they record the Chapter 2 - Season 7 end event live, as replays will be disabled during Operation: Sky Fire. Also, make sure to equip your favourite skin in the locker before entering the playlist, as this is what your character will wear throughout the finale event.
Fortnite Operation Sky Fire Prep List
Chapter 2 - Season 7 will cease to exist following the conclusion of Operation: Sky Fire. Here is a checklist of things Fortnite players may want to accomplish before we are all sent into Fortnite Season 8:
- Collect and exchange Alien Artifacts on Kymera customization options. Alien Artifacts will disappear at the start of Operation: Sky Fire.
- Spend Gold Bars. Your Gold Bar stash will not carry over into Fortnite Season 8.
- Finish all steps regarding how to unlock Superman in Fortnite. The Fortnite Superman skin, Superman cosmetics, and the Superman Shadow style will have their progress locked once Chapter 2 - Season 7 ends.
- Unlock all Chapter 2 - Season 7 Battle Pass items and spend Fortnite Battle Stars. These items will be locked forever if you do not acquire them before 9 PM BST on September 12.
Quests related to skins like the Lebron James Fortnite skin and the Vox Hunter skin will still be available in Fortnite Season 8. However, most items and the quests associated with Chapter 2 - Season 7 are limited-time and will expire.
