As we enter into the final days of the season, players have begun to wonder if Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 will have a live event. Live events have become a crucial part of Fortnite's allure, bringing everyone together at the same time to experience a massive in-game spectacle. So, the question is, will Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 have a live event?

UPDATE 19/03: It looks like there really will be no live event with Epic Games announcing downtime ahead of the release of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 with none of the associated hype that would come with a live event. While we don't have a live event, there is still plenty for players to get their teeth into, check out the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 patch notes for the lowdown.

Unfortunately, there will likely not be a live event to cap off Chapter 3 Season 1. We know this because the final update of the season, v19.40, did not include any event-related files. Typically if there's going to be a special live event, the files leak early.

While season-ending live events have become the norm, not every Fortnite season features a live event. Notably, there has never been a major live event during Season 1 of any chapter. Season 1 is generally designed to build tension and set the scene before the major events really unfold in later seasons. With that, look out for the Fortnite story to heat up in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.

Even though there may not be a true live event to wrap up Chapter 3 Season 1, the story has progressed through more minor events.

Midway through the season, Dr. Slone and the Imagined Order (IO) set up Fortnite computer terminals and Mole Team Drill Sites around the island. The IO is using massive drills in an attempt to dig through from Apollo to Artemis.

As a result of the underground drilling, Artemis is falling apart. Great earthquakes as well as more minor ones are occurring every day and tearing the island to pieces. Certain incidents have left permanent damage in the form of the Sinkholes that are popping up across the island.

If the army of IO forces makes it to the Flipside soon, Chapter 3 Season 2 may devolve into an all-out war between The Seven and the Imagined Order.

That's about everything we know about the prospects of a live event to end Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1. Chapter 3 Season 1 will officially come to a close on March 19, 2022. Keep an eye out for more information on Season 2 in the coming days.
