What's all this talk about Fortnite Chapter 3? All sorts of juicy rumours and leaks have been circulating around the Fortnite community, and as it turns out, Chapter 3 will be arriving sooner than expected. This guide will cover everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 3 so far.

Fortnite Chapter 3: How Do We Know Chapter 3 Is Coming?

The rumours discussing the approach of Chapter 3 have been circulating for a few weeks now. At first, everyone just assumed that Chapter 2 Season 9 and Season 10 would release ahead of Chapter 3. However, in a shocking move, it appears that Epic Games has decided to abandon these final two seasons.

It all started when popular Fortnite content creators like Ali "SypherPK" Hassan and Tabor Hill released videos discussing the theory of Chapter 3's forthcoming release. In the videos, these creators piece together bits of evidence and hints that point toward an expedited Chapter 3.

Now we know that these Fortnite content creators were on to something. Epic Games has officially confirmed that we are nearing the end of Chapter 2. There's no more denying it — Chapter 3 is coming.

As we speak, the powerful Cube Queen floats over the centre of the island, morphing it to her will. The Cube Queen is not just any Fortnite villain either. The Cube Queen has a history of successfully destroying entire realities and she aims to make our reality her next victim.

It looks like Chapter 2 will end with an ultimate battle between the inhabitants of the island and the Cube Queen. While we don't know what will occur exactly or how the battle will end, the final result will lead us into a new reality.

The Chapter 2 finale will take place on December 4 and when it's all said and done, Fortnite will once again be nothing but a black hole. On December 7, we will emerge from the darkness and be greeted with a new chapter of Fortnite.

Fortnite Chapter 3: What To Expect

New Slide Mechanic

The beginning of a fresh chapter is the perfect time to add brand-new game-changing features to Fortnite. We saw this with Chapter 2 and the addition of mechanics like fishing and the ability to swim. In Fortnite Chapter 3, players will be able to slide.

This news comes from the mouths of famed Fortnite leakers HYPEX and gameshred_. Digging into the game files, a new sliding mechanic was uncovered. Just like in games like Call of Duty, Apex Legends, and Halo Infinite, players in Chapter 3 will have the ability to slide.

Smart Builds

Over Fortnite's lifespan, the game has increasingly become sweatier and sweatier. Fortnite veterans are getting better by the day, using casual and new players as target practice. Fortnite prides itself on being a game for players of all skill levels, so this discrepancy is something the developers have been working hard to address.

One new way Epic Games hopes to make things easier on new and lesser-skilled players is with the creation of Smart Builds. Right now, players can choose from just four build options: ramps, floors, walls, and pyramids. Each of these pieces must be placed one at a time and meticulously connected to create structures.

Smart Builds are pre-built structures that can be placed with the single click of a button. Chapter 3 will give Fortnite players the option of building huts, double towers, and more automatically. The hope is that Smart Builds will bridge the gap between advanced players and beginners.

No Build Mode

For the same reason Smart Builds are coming, Chapter 3 will likely feature a new game mode where building is completely restricted. While building is synonymous with Fortnite, there's no denying that this complicated gameplay mechanic isn't for everyone. It's not uncommon to hear Fortnite tourists remark that they enjoy the base game of Fortnite - just not building. Well, Chapter 3 may finally introduce a mode for this type of player.

Weapon Attachments

Rumours have been circulating for nearly a year now regarding Fortnite weapon mod attachments. Apparently, Epic Games has been testing this feature which will give standard Fortnite guns special abilities and buffs. Vehicle attachments already exist, so it's not a far-fetched idea that weapon attachments are on the horizon. With Chapter 3 quickly approaching, many suspect that weapon attachments will be one of the new chapter's highlights.

New Collabs

Fortnite is constantly pumping out new crossover collaborations, so it shouldn't be a surprise when Chapter 3 is chock full of them. However, thanks largely to the Epic Games vs. Apple lawsuit, we can piece together an extensive list of already confirmed collabs that will likely go live in the upcoming chapter of Fortnite.

One of the most interesting bits of information revealed in the court documents from the Epic Games vs. Apple lawsuit is the sheer amount of Fortnite collabs in the works. Collaborations with Lady Gaga, The Rock, Katniss Everdeen, Samas Aran, and more iconic names have been confirmed. As none of these crossovers have occurred yet, it's very likely that we'll see the end product sometime in Chapter 3.

New Battle Royale Map

Finally, Fortnite Chapter 3 will introduce a brand-new map for battle royale. According to leakers with inside information, the map will be named Artemis.

The original leak came from Reddit user u/Edmire2K. According to them, the design is based on the true Chapter 3 map blueprint that they heard about and saw via someone inside of Epic Games. If this user is to be believed, Fortnite Chapter 3's new map will look roughly similar to the concept pictured below:

While it's possible this particular map designer is full of it, there's no doubt Chapter 3 will get a new battle royale map in one form or another.

That concludes our detailed list detailing everything we know about Fortnite Chapter 3. Enjoy your final moments on the Chapter 2 map and prepare for a new Fortnite chapter beginning on December 7.
