Aliens have invaded the Fortnite world and changed our lives as we know them. But one thing remains the same: challenges. Completing challenges is the best and most efficient way of earning XP in Fortnite. Players will need this XP to acquire Battle Stars, the currency used to unlock items in Chapter 2 - Season 7’s Battle Pass. Ignoring challenges will make it near impossible to unlock Season 7’s signature skins like Rick Sanchez and Superman.

Now that we’ve harped on the importance of completing challenges, let’s get into the details. Each Week 5 challenge grants a substantial 30,000 XP. Completing all Week 5 challenges will grant players an enormous 375,000 XP.  As you can see, these challenges are not something you want to miss out on.

A month into the new season and the island’s inhabitants are still waging war with the alien invaders. As a neutral party, players will be completing missions for both the aliens and the non-player characters (NPCs) that inhabit the island. We don’t care whose side we’re on, as long as we get that sweet XP and Battle Stars as a reward for our efforts.

As a war carries on over the Fortnite island, It’s time to sell our services to anyone willing to pay up — alien or human.

Epic Quests

Destroy computer equipment at satellite stations or Corny Complex (3) - 30,000 XP

This challenge is a throwback to Week 2. The task is identical, except this time, Corny Complex counts too.

Head to any of the satellite stations on the map or the Imagined Order (IO) headquarters located beneath Corny Complex. Once inside, begin destroying all of the computer equipment with your pickaxe. Week 5’s first Epic Quest will complete once the player has destroyed three pieces of computer equipment.

Damage IO Guards (250) - 30,000 XP

Satellite stations and Corny Complex’s underground base come with their own sets of bodyguards. IO Guards defend these bases, attacking any players that enter.

While you’re out destroying computer equipment, take some shots at any IO Guards that cause you trouble. Dealing 250 total damage to IO Guards will complete this second challenge.

Eliminate Trespassers (2) - 30,000 XP

Trespassers pilot Flying Saucers and can be found hovering around the skies at points of interest (POIs) that have their name highlighted in purple on the map.

The chosen POIs will be random every match, so check the map before jumping out of the Battle Bus. Dive onto a POI with a purple name and grab a gun. Next, turn your eyes to the sky and shoot down the first Flying Saucer you see.

When the Saucer comes down, a Trespasser will hop out and attack you. Finish them off to earn credit for this challenge. Repeat these steps twice to fully complete the quest.

Deal damage with IO or Alien weapons (500) - 30,000 XP

The following list includes all IO and Alien weapons currently in the game:

These weapons can often be found off the corpses of Trespassers and/or IO Guards. Additionally, IO weapons will appear as loot out of IO Chests.

This is a challenge best fit for Team Rumble. Enter the playlist and find yourself an IO or Alien weapon. With one of these futuristic weapons in hand, hunt down some enemies. In Team Rumble, you respawn with your original loot, so don’t worry about getting eliminated. Fight as often as possible, and you should be able to easily achieve 500 damage by the end of one match.

Loot supply drops (2) - 30,000 XP

While you’re in that Team Rumble match, keep an eye on the sky and on the minimap for Supply Drops. Supply Drops fall like candy in Team Rumble. Dozens of Supply Drops will drop from the sky each Team Rumble match.

Be the first player to open two of these Supply Drops to complete this Epic Quest. This can be done in standard game modes as well, it just might be a little more difficult.

Damage a Saucer with a pilot inside (800) - 30,000 XP

This challenge goes hand in hand with the “Eliminate Trespassers” Quest. Trespassers spawn in Saucers, so these challenges can be completed in unison.

Head to a POI with its name highlighted in purple on the map. Gun down any Saucers you see flying around in the sky. Each Saucer comes with 600 HP, so you’ll need to shoot at least two to deal the 800 damage required for this challenge.

Shooting down Saucers piloted by enemy players works as well, so don’t be afraid to pop a few shots at any Saucer that enters your no-fly zone.

Open an IO Chest at a satellite station or Corny Complex (1) - 30,000 XP

This is yet another challenge that can be completed simultaneously with other Week 5 Epic Quests.

Week 5’s first Epic Quest has players visiting satellite stations and Corny Complex to destroy computer equipment. While you’re there, search the area for an IO Chest. Loot one and kill two birds with one stone. You can even use one of the IO weapons that come out to deal damage and knock out a third Epic Quest all at the same time.

Opportunities to complete multiple challenges in one game are few and far between, so capitalize on the occasion when it arises.

Legendary Quests

Interact with a CB Radio (1) – 45,000 XP

Retail Row is the spot to find CB Radios. There are seven CB Radios spread throughout Retail Row. Players will only need to interact with one to complete this challenge and earn 45,000 XP.

There’s a CB Radio outside the front door of pretty much every residential house in Retail Row. Additionally, there’s a CB Radio in the NOMS car park and a couple more by the water tower and the ziplines. Land at Retail Row and interact with just one of these CB Radios to complete this Legendary Quest.

Place Welcome Gifts in Holly Hatchery (2) – 30,000 XP

The past two weeks of challenges have had us placing Missing Person Signs and Welcome Signs around the island. This week, players will need to place Welcome Gifts in Holly Hatchery - aka - Holly Hedges.

Head to Holly Hatchery and search for spots to place Welcome Gifts. These locations are marked with blue translucent holograms. There are ten spots to place Welcome Gifts, but we only need to put down two to complete the challenge. Players can refer to the video below to view all potential spots to place Welcome Gifts.

Deploy Alien Nanites (1) – 30,000 XP

Alien Nanites are a new throwable item just released. This Common rarity item can be deployed by players to generate an alien biome in a large area for a short duration. Additionally, Alien Nanites can be used as crafting material. Combine Alien Nanites with a normal weapon to turn it into an IO or Alien weapon.

For this challenge, players need to throw just one Alien Nanite.

Dance near Zyg and Choppy (1) – 30,000 XP

Zyg and Choppy is a boss NPC located inside the Hydro 16 building. When defeated, Zyg and Choppy will drop the Mythic Ray Gun.

But we aren’t here to eliminate Zyg and Choppy, we’re just here to dance. Perform any emote near the alien creature to complete the challenge.

Get infected by an Alien Parasite and talk to Sunny (1) – 30,000 XP

Alien Parasites are a new type of creature introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 7. These Alien Parasites will attempt to attach to a player’s head, draining their health. In exchange, the host player gains a low gravity effect.

Alien Parasites can typically be found on the heads of infected animals. These infected animals seem to roam around Pleasant Park and Corny Complex in particular. Find one and claim an Alien Parasite for yourself.

With your newfound friend attached to your head, go visit Sunny at Believer Beach. Sunny can be found on the beach next to the pier. Speak to her with the Alien Parasite on your head to complete Week 5’s final Legendary Quest.
