Five Last-Minute Tips To Prepare For Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 7
It’s that time again - a new season of Fortnite is right around the corner. With news of an alien invasion hitting the island, now is an exciting time to be a Fortnite player.
The new season hype is thrilling, but are you really prepared? For a lot of players, there is still plenty to accomplish in the current season. And if you ignore it, the rewards will be gone forever. Plus, there are several things players should have ready for the minute the new season goes live.
Don’t get caught up in the hype and enter Season 7 underprepared. Use this checklist to get ahead of the crowd and ensure you jump into the new season ahead of the competition.
Complete The Season 6 Battle Pass
Every season of Fortnite comes with a new Battle Pass unique to that particular season. Battle Passes are exclusive to the specific season they are attached to. If you don’t finish it in time, those cosmetic items are gone forever.
Players should try their best to finish the Chapter 2 - Season 6 Battle Pass before the new season goes live. Otherwise, you may miss out on a certain item and regret it endlessly. To this day, you’ll hear players complain about how they missed the Max Omega skin in Season 4.
Chapter 2 - Season 6’s Battle Pass included seven total skins. These skins are:
- Agent Jones: Tier 1
- Lara Croft: Tier 15
- Tarana: Tier 29
- Raz: Tier 50
- Cluck: Tier 61
- Rebirth Raven: Tier 77
- Spire Assassin: Tier 100
Obviously, the Chapter 2 - Season 6 Battle Pass includes dozens of other items, but skins are the main draw. Prepare to grind out those final levels and reach your desired tier before the new season arrives on June 8.
Unlock Season 6’s Enlightened Skins
Fortnite Chapter 2 introduced Enlightened skins. Enlightened skins are Jewel-toned variants of certain Battle Pass skins.
Enlightened skins are high-tier rewards aimed at players that go above and beyond. Was Tier 100 too easy for you? Try reaching Tier 225.
There are three different variants of Enlightened skins - Chromium, Runic, and Golden. Tarana, Raz, and Spire Assassin are the three skins that have an Enlightened form available. Golden Spire Assassin is the final skin, needing an intimidating prerequisite of Tier 225 to unlock.
The full list of Enlightened skins and their Tier requirements is as follows:
Chromium
Tarana: Tier 110
Raz: Tier 130
Spire Assassin: Tier 150
Runic
Tarana: Tier 160
Raz: Tier 180
Spire Assassin: Tier 200
Golden
Tarana: Tier 205
Raz: Tier 215
Spire Assassin: Tier 225
Players will need to seriously grind out XP if they hope to achieve these high-end rewards. Playing matches alone is likely not enough. Players need to complete all of the weekly challenges as well. Thankfully, we have you covered with Challenge Guides from Week 1 to Week 12!
Backtrack and complete any challenges that you have sitting unfinished. The extra XP may be just enough to unlock some of these exclusive Enlightened skins.
Catch Up On The Lore
The lore in Fortnite is deeper and more extensive than one may realise - everything in the Fortnite universe is connected. Each character introduced, every in-game event - all of it relates to the story in a way. Even the crossover events with Marvel play a significant role in the Fortnite story.
Players should read up and familiarise themselves with the Fortnite lore so they can better understand the current state of the game. This will allow players to get much more invested in the story and the theme when Season 7 drops.
Put On Your Favourite Skin Combo
Chapter 2 - Season 6 began with a single-player mission. The second players opened up the game, they were greeted by Agent Jonesy and The Foundation.
The outfit players wore during this mission was determined by what they had on to end the season prior. There was no dressing up or changing beforehand. You were stuck wearing the skin you ended Season 5 with.
It seems as though there will be no end of season live event for Season 6. But, rumour has it that there may be another single-player mission to kick off Season 7.
Don’t get caught in an unflattering fit. Dress up your Fortnite character with your freshest skins and get ready to dive into Season 7 in style.
Resolve Real-Life Responsibilities
Outside of Fortnite, everyone has real-life responsibilities they must attend to. To ensure you have adequate time to play on June 8, players should address these responsibilities ahead of time.
- Prepare the day’s meals in advance. Grab some Hot Pockets from the local grocery store or have some delivery food scheduled.
- Get some exercise! You’ll likely be hunched over with your eyes on a screen for the entirety of June 8. To make yourself feel better about this unhealthy binge, get some exercise in beforehand. Your mind and body will thank you.
- Complete your chores. Have a phone call to make? Some laundry or dishes to do? Tie up all your loose ends before Chapter 2 - Season 7 goes live. This way, you can game stress-free.
- Spend some time with your partner. Not everyone’s partner will be okay with them dedicating a whole day to Fortnite. “But, it’s a new season!” Still, that excuse may not cut it. To compromise, spend the time leading up to Season 7 with your partner. Have a movie night or go out to dinner. The time spent now will reap dividends later. Your partner will likely be much more understanding of your extended Fortnite session if you give them attention in the days prior.
Take care of your real-life responsibilities in advance so that you can game guilt-free!
A new season’s launch is the most exciting time in Fortnite. Enjoy it, but make sure you come prepared.
