It's that time of the footballing season where the FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees are revealed, celebrating their achievements over the academic year of 2021. Unlike other popular FIFA 22 promos, where players are released at random, the Team of the Year is your chance to vote for which players you think have performed the best over the last 12 months (even with some bias towards who will be best in-game), and finally have your voice heard.

The FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees are the most anticipated promotion of the year, with each player that wins earning a respective TOTY card that eclipses any other promotion in the game, often seeing the 95+ ratings splattered across the starting XI.

So, with four categories to vote in (Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders, and Attackers), here's the full list of the FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees...

FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees: Goalkeepers

Seven names made themselves into the list for the FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees in the goalkeeper category, with representation from around the globe. As with many of FIFA's promotions, fans may opt to vote for a keeper that will fit into their teams, so it could be a good time to push for a Donnarumma or Ederson to be a brick wall between the sticks for your Ultimate Team.

Making up the FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees in the defender's category is a mixture of speedy full-backs to no-nonsense centre-halves. Some players may be alarmed at the omission of the previous TOTY pairing of Virgil Van Dijk and Sergio Ramos, although the European Cup has highlighted the likes of Chiellini and Ruben Dias alongside PSG's dominating Marquinhos.

Chelsea's midfield duo of N'golo Kante and Jorginho lead the way in the voting for Ballon D'Or, gaining a fifth and third place ranking respectively, closely followed by Kevin De Bruyne and Mason Mount - all of whom are named in the FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees. However, fierce competition for in-game maestros may come from the likes of Luka Modric, Fabinho, and Joshua Kimmich as players look to reinforce their own squads with ball-winners.

As the most eccentric category, the Ballon D'Or shareholders Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both could be the popular choices for the FIFA 22 TOTY Nominees, whilst Mo Salah may also be a popular choice after his below-expected finish in the accolade. As per usual, the forward nominees are some of the most flamboyant players in the world, so if you cast only one vote this year, you may want to get your favourite player over the line.
