The FFXIV Brave New World side quest unlocks the alliance raid The Tower at Paradigm’s Breach. Final Fantasy 14 has a wide variety of 24-man raids available for players to take part in as each expansion brings three new alliance raids, but Shadowbringers was a special one for fans of NieR:Automata. Much to the delight of players, the first part of the collaboration with FFXIV was released in 2019, bringing a brand-new story including the fan-favourite 2B and the opportunity to walk around areas inspired by the game. The final 24-man raid in the NieR:Automata questline YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse is The Tower at Paradigm’s Breach. Here’s all you need to know about how to unlock it from the FFXIV Brave New World quest.

  • If you’re still a new player when it comes to FFXIV, give our FFXIV beginners tips guide a read to help you through the start of your journey in Eorzea.

The quest Brave New World is the fourteenth quest in the FFXIV YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse questline. Prior to unlocking this quest, you will have unlocked the other two 24-man raids, The Copied Factory, and The Puppets’ Bunker.

As you progress through the questline, you will notice that you often have to explore the 24-man raids' areas solo. One of these areas is The Puppets’ Bunker and this is where the Dig Site Chief will be at coordinates (X:9.8, Y:14.3) with the blue quest Brave New World.

To unlock Brave New World in FFXIV you must have at least one class at level 80 or higher and have completed the main story quest “Shadowbringer”. This is the last quest in the main section of the expansion Shadowbringers. This also stands for unlocking the first quest in the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse questline too. As Brave New World is the fourteenth quest in the Nier questline, you will have already unlocked and taken part in the two previous 24-man raids. The previous quest before Brave New World is Konogg, Alone which is given by the Dig Site Chief in Kholusia at the coordinates (x:34.7 Y:18.2).

Making sure you’ve unlocked flying in Kholusia will make this the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse questline much easier to do as you’ll be able to travel back and forth a lot quicker. Check out our guide on FFXIV Aether Currents for more info on how to do that.

FFXIV The Tower At Paradigm’s Breach: Gear And Loot

The Tower at Paradigm’s Breach 24-man raid has chests to open for loot after every boss. This is a feature in all FFXIV’s alliance raids. The final boss drops a larger bounty of loot compared to the previous bosses in the raid. • Aiming
  • Scouting
  • Casting
  • Fending
  • Maiming
  • Striking
  • Healing

These are incredibly popular pieces of gear for glam purposes amongst FFXIV players.

The chests dropped after beating the final boss of The Tower at Paradigm’s Breach also include additional miscellaneous loot options such as minions, hairstyles and orchestrion rolls. These items are:

  • Modern Aesthetics: Battle-Ready Bobs (2B’s Hairstyle)
  • Modern Aesthetics: Scanning for Style (9S’s Hairstyle)
  • 9S Automaton Minion
  • Smaller Stubby Minion (The robots from Nier Automata)
  • Stuffed Android Units (Housing item)

  • Kainé (Final Fantasy Main Theme Version) Orchestrion Roll
  • The Sound of The End: 8bit Orchestrion Roll

  • The Sound of The End: Orchestrion Roll

The 2B Triple Triad card can also drop in the chests for The Tower at Paradigm’s Breach however, this is a random number generated (RNG) drop.
