Dying Light 2 Lawan Romance: Can You Romance Characters?

Players are wondering if there is a Dying Light 2 Lawan romance after many have fallen in love with the character. Dying Light 2 is here, and the latest entry in the parkour zombie series has a bigger focus on its story and characters than before. It combines many RPG mechanics with its action gameplay, and some are hoping this includes romance options for the NPCs, including Lawan.

In short, there is no Dying Light 2 Lawan romance, and though you can have close moments with her character - and even try to display your affection (pictured above) - ultimately, there is no explicit option to romance her. One of the endings does heavily imply that you two end up together, though you will need to make specific choices in the story to get this. There is another character that you can have a brief love scene with during one of the game's many side quests, but many will lament that this isn't an option with Lawan.

None of this is particularly a surprise though, the developers breached the topic of romance choices before launch in an AMA on their YouTube channel, stating that such involved RPG choices were "never our goal."

So, while there is no way to romance Lawan during the events of the game, the 'good' ending does see you two leave the city together, but how do you get this ending?

There are some key choices you need to make so that Lawan will leave with you at the end of the game. For the Dying Light 2 help or leave Hakon choice, you need to help Hakon out, along with just generally being nice to him. Give the tower to Frank, during the Dying Light 2 Jack Matt, Juan, or Frank choice, and then support Lawan during The Shoe main quest by being empathetic and then telling her killing Hakon won't change the past. 

If Lawan shows up before the fight with Hakon at the church, then you are on the right path, and you will need to convince her not to kill him. Then, for the final choice in the game, help Mia and let Lawan blow up the missiles, meaning Hakon should save her, and she will join you as you leave the city.
