Dying Light 2 Crossplay: How To Enable Crossplay

Will Dying Light 2 crossplay feature in this zombie slash-em-up? Dying Light 2 is a game about chopping off limbs and pulling off the gnarliest parkour moves, so crossplay might not be the first thing on everyone's mind. But even the zombie apocalypse has to consider whether you play on Xbox, PlayStation or PC. Let's break it down on whether Dying Light 2 crossplay is on the way.

Dying Light 2 Crossplay: Does It Have Crossplay?

Dying Light 2 crossplay is the direct result of both the Dying Light 2 co-op and Dying Light 2 multiplayer, so check out those guides if you want more detailed info on the online aspects of the game.

Considering crossplay however, some players may be disappointed to find that Dying Light 2 crossplay will not be available on launch. This will come as a crushing blow to those cross-generational mates that just want to bash in some zombie brains together. 

Dying Light 2 Crossplay: Will Crossplay Come Later?

Despite the disappointment of the lack of Dying Light 2 crossplay at launch, will we be seeing it implemented later down the line? This appears to be a slightly more hopeful prospect. In an interview with Wccftech, Lead Game Designer Tymon Smektala stated: 

" So, no, this will not be implemented at the start but we are looking very closely at it and we hopefully will be able to activate/introduce it later during the life of the game."

While Dying Light 2 crossplay is by no means confirmed for a future update, considering that the original Dying Light, received updates and DLC as late as August 2020 - five years after the original game's launch - it would be reasonable to expect Techland to support and update Dying Light 2 with a feature like crossplay somewhere down the line. Until then we just need to stick with those on the same platform as us.
