Destiny 2 Sever Grief is one of the new story missions that are part of the Season of the Haunted. Destiny 2 has gone down a seriously personal road with recent content, bringing the trauma of some of its characters to the fore. This one involves Zavala, and the grief he holds on to from his distant past. Here is what you need to know to complete Destiny 2 Sever Grief.

  • The Destiny 2 Empty Grief challenge is tied to the Sever Grief mission, and can be awkward to complete. Check out our guide to learn more.

Destiny 2 Sever Grief: Setting Amplifiers

Once again, we need to set amplifiers around the underbelly of the Leviathan. Players who are unfamiliar with the location might find it a bit confusing, it can be tricky to figure out where to go. We start out in the Irrigation section of the ship, beneath the Pleasure Gardens. When the mission starts, you will come to the main room of Irrigation and find the way in blocked by electricity. Go back and to the right to progress.

Follow this path until you reach a stuck door, this is where you need to place the first amplifier. Go through the door, and you will be back in front of the main room at a different entrance. To your left will be spores you can shoot, but you do not need it yet. Instead, jump up to the ledge above the door and follow the pipes to the room on your immediate right.

Drop down there and go down the corridor to find a wrench. Bring it back with you, dealing with enemies that spawn in as you go. Go back to the previous room, and you will be able to use the wrench on the machine by the door to turn off the electricity.

Now, you can shoot the spores and cross the main room to your objective. Activate the console to lift the security lockdown and open the doors ahead. Head into the next large room, deal with the enemies, plant an amplifier in the first room on the left, then climb up the fan area at the end of the room to meet Zavala at the top.

Leave Zavala and head out through the door. Place the final amplifier then head down the corridor. Follow the corridor to a large, cylindrical room. Make your way to the end to find spores to shoot, then head back one section to drop down into the pipe and follow it down into the boss room. Speak with Zavala to begin the boss fight.

The fight begins with many Fallen pouring into the room. Defeat them and the boss, the Nightmare of Kethiks, will appear before too long. He is a Fallen Archon with a Scorch Cannon, so be sure to avoid his attacks. Once you reduce his health by a third, he will become invincible, more enemies will enter the area, and the scythe will appear beside Zavala.

Use the scythe as you clear out the enemies. In particular, you need to defeat Nightmare Chieftains to get Kethiks to reappear and allow you to damage him. Focus on the ads, clear the room out, and once it is just you and Kethiks, focus your damage on him.

Repeat this process until Kethiks is dead. At this point, you will have completed the mission and helped Zavala take a step towards acceptance.

That is everything you need to do to complete the Destiny 2 Sever Grief mission. For more on the game, check out our Destiny 2 weekly reset guide for everything new this week.
