How To Get Destiny 2 Laurels For The Guardian Games
Destiny 2 Laurels are a resource specific to the Guardian Games, used as a currency to participate in the event. Destiny 2 periodically presents events like the Guardian Games to give players new ways to play the game. Guardian Games tasks players with gathering Medallions and depositing them to bolster their class’s position in the competition, and one of the best ways to do so is to buy cards with Laurels. Gathering Laurels is an important part of the event, so to learn some handy methods for gathering them check out our Destiny 2 Laurels guide.
- Before you can start gathering Laurels, you’re going to need to complete the Destiny 2 Best In Class quest.
How To Get Laurels In Destiny 2
There are two main sources for Laurels, both involve defeating enemies. Powerful Combatants, which is to say any enemies with orange and yellow health bars, will drop Laurels when killed. You can also get Laurels by defeating any enemy with an ability. This means your grenades, your melee abilities, and if you can somehow kill enemies with your class abilities, those should work too.
This means you have plenty of options on how to get Laurels, so feel free to choose the method which works best for you. The Guardian Games requires a whole lot of Strikes to be done anyway, so think about using abilities that can clear out groups of enemies so you can grab a nice few Laurels during your Strikes.

Destiny 2 Laurels Farming Method
It can be quite easy to passively earn Laurels as you play. You are bound to pick up a decent few of them while you do Strikes. However, if you want to stay topped up, and have enough to continually buy Platinum or Contender Cards, you might want to stop off every now and then and farm some Laurels.
If you find you don’t have enough Laurels and need more, the best thing to do is pick a spot where plenty of enemies spawn continuously and repeatedly take them down with your abilities. There are plenty of patrol areas you can go to with lots of small, weak enemies you can quickly run through, but the absolute best place to go is to load into the Grasp of Avarice dungeon. You do not need teammates, this can be done solo and will fill your pockets with Laurels in no time.
The first part of the dungeon involves heading to the loot cave, where dozens and dozens of enemies spawn. What you are supposed to do here is kill them, take the fake engrams, and use them to open the way forward. Instead, for our purposes we will go there and take out all of these mobs over and over with abilities to get piles of Laurels.
The tricky part is finding the right ability to quickly farm these enemies. Titan’s can use Heart of Inmost Light to have near-constant grenades and shoulder charges. Hunters can use the throwing knives from the Solar middle tree to constantly regenerate melee energy and get more knives out quickly. Warlocks, well you lot have all sorts of crazy stuff, I’m sure you’ll figure something out.
Regardless of your location or method, it shouldn’t take long to fill up your 500 Laurel slots, you only need 200 for a Platinum Card anyway. Once you have what you need, head back to the Guardian Games activities to gain more Medallions and complete your quests.
That is everything you need to know to get more Destiny 2 Laurels, so take these tips and fill your boots. For more Destiny 2 tips, such as something to do with all those Laurels, why not check out our Destiny 2 Medallion Battalion quest guide.
