Murmurs of the Destiny 2 Epicurean fusion rifle are beginning to circulate, and it's getting fans excited. This classic Destiny fusion rifle was all the rage a few years back, and now players are calling for its return. But will the Epicurean come back to Destiny 2? And what made it so special in the first place? We've got everything you need to know about the Destiny 2 Epicurean fusion rifle.

Like so many weapons in Bungie's shooter, such as the Destiny 2 Glaciocasm, the Epicurean was a time-limited weapon that was only unlockable during the Season of Opulence back in 2019.

This fusion rifle garnered critical acclaim for players, especially in regard to its effectiveness in the Crucible. While many fusion rifles are ignored within PvP events due to their slow fire rate, the Destiny 2 Epicurean featured a phenomenally fast fire rate for a fusion rifle, and could often plough through entire fireteams with ease.

Taking it one step further, thanks to a combination of mods and damage multipliers the Epicurean would be absolutely lethal in any situation.

You can see just how deadly the Destiny 2 Epicurean was from this recent YouTube video from TrueVanguard Clips:

While fans have been clamouring for its return, there doesn't seem to be any official sighting of the Destiny 2 Epicurean since the weapon was sunsetted - meaning the Epicurean had reached its level cap. This is an approach Bungie had to keep weapons in a steady rotation, so a popular weapon like the Epicurean could only be popular for the year it was introduced and newly introduced weapons would supersede it. This is a system Bungie done away with at the start of 2021.

However, that isn't to say that the weapon can't come back. The ongoing Bungie 30th Anniversary event has seen the reintroduction of weapons from the original Destiny, such as the Eyasluna and 1000-Yard Stare. The Destiny 2 Xur location changes each week, offering up players new weapons and armour so we could see it turn up there. However, with The Witch Queen expansion just around the corner, the Epicurean's return could really go either way, as Bungie introduce a new form of weapons crafting and modding.

That's all we know about the Destiny 2 Epicurean for now, but we will be sure to update this page when and if we know more. Until then why not get the most out of the 30th Anniversary event by trying to complete the Destiny 2 Fateful Spin Triumph
