Destiny 2 Dark Frosting: How To Earn Dark Frosting
Destiny 2 Dark Frosting is one of the many ingredients added during Destiny 2 The Dawning 2021. However, this ingredient was added slightly later than the rest. The reason is likely because Dark Frosting is a part of the newest of the subclasses, Stasis. So gaining Stasis final blows through Stasis abilities and weapons is how to get Dark Frosting in Destiny 2.
Dark Frosting has a rather inconsistent drop rate, but one of the best ways to get to it is by using the new seasonal Zephyr sword. We have a full Destiny 2 The Pigeon Provided quest walkthrough, if you are yet to unlock the Zepyhr sword. While it uses the far less common heavy ammo, playing through the ongoing Dares of Eternity (which is also central to the Destiny 2 Magnum Opus quest), you should get plenty of heavy ammo and each kill will count towards Dark Frosting drops.

Destiny 2 Dark Frosting: What's It For?
As mentioned, The Dawning 2021 event is all about cooking and gifting treats for various NPCs. As such every recipe has a designated recipient. In the case of the Destiny 2 Dark Frosting, it is needed along with Dark Ether Cane and Essence of Dawning to bake the Starwort Thins. These gifts are intended for the Exo Stranger on Europa. Along with the usual Dawning Spirit and rare weapon gifts, you will also be rewarded "A Gift In Return", which at the moments seems to be the only consistent way to unlock the following Dawning weapons: Cold Front, Glacioclasm, and Avalanche.
