Destiny 2 Bay of Drowned Wishes is a lost sector in the Dreaming City that appears in the rotation of Master and Legend lost sectors. Destiny 2 gave lost sectors new life when they brought in Master and Legend difficulty. These extra challenging lost sectors are the only way to get much of the new exotic armour, making them a crucial part of the game. Here is what you need to do to complete the Destiny 2 Bay of Drowned Wishes on Legend or Master lost sector.

  • Just what is a lost sector? Philosophers have been asking this question for generations, but we have the answers in our Destiny 2 Lost Sectors guide.

Destiny 2 Bay Of Drowned Wishes: Preparation

With all Legend/Master lost sectors, there are modifiers to contend with. You have the usual Match Game, Extra Shields, and Locked Equipment active. This means there are more shielded enemies, their shields are extremely tough to break unless you use the corresponding element, and your loadout is locked in once you start the lost sector. You need to make sure you have the right weapons equipped going in for everything you will face in the lost sector.

Thankfully there aren’t too many elements to be concerned with in the Bay of Drowned Wishes. All shielded enemies in this area have Void shields, even the Raiders who now have shields thanks to the Stalker Shield modifier. Just be sure to have a Void weapon for those shields and you should be good. You should also focus your damage into an Arc weapon, as this lost sector has an Arc burn. Something like Wardcliff Coil is ideal here to take full advantage of the burn.

Lastly, we have champions to deal with. In particular, there are Unstoppable Abominations and Overload Chieftains dotted throughout the lost sector. To take them down, you will need the appropriate perks and weapons equipped to stun them. If you’re not sure which, head to your seasonal artefact to find out.

This lost sector is conceptually very simple, as it is essentially only two rooms. The first is when you come through the cave and out into the bay itself. There will be an Unstoppable Abomination in the distance, along with a lot of Screeb. The Screeb are simple as always, just pop one and the group should explode with it. Highly recommend that you use the distance you have to your advantage, and take the champion out from far away. A ranged weapon to stun it paired with a rocket launcher should make life pretty easy for you here. That is good advice for this entire section, the bay is a large area so make use of the space. When you dispatch the first Unstoppable Abomination, another will appear shortly after with more Screeb, so repeat the process.

Continue along the bay, and be wary of traps. There are several of those slow-down mines along the way, so destroy them before you get to them. Your destination is a cave entrance on the right as you go. The entrance will be blocked by a shield, and you need to clear the area to get in. As you approach, a group of Stalkers will spawn in with an Overload Chieftain. These champions can be particularly deadly so stun it quickly. A well-placed grenade would be good here to take out the smaller enemies, allowing you to focus on the champion. Hit it with your heavy once it is stunned and move up behind the rocks to the left when it is down.

If you look up to the left of the cave, there is a ledge where snipers will appear. They can end your run in a hurry so be careful, stick to cover and take them out as quickly as you can. Head for the entrance, but watch your back as a metric tonne of Screeb are about to spawn in. An Unstoppable Abomination will appear down on the beach as well, so be ready for that. Once they are all dealt with, the shield will drop and you can head inside.

Now you are in the final room, where you will enter on top of a small cliff. There are explosive canisters here, it would be wise to destroy those from a safe distance before an errant shot from an enemy does so and takes you with it. You can and should stay on top of this cliff, as you can take out all the enemies in the room from there. There is another Overload Chieftain to deal with along with plenty of Ravagers who will charge at your and leap onto your cliff. Retreat as needed to give yourself space to take out the Ravagers, a grenade placed right where they jump to would really help here. All the while, the Overload Chieftain will be bombarding your area with shots, so be careful as you engage it. Be ready to stun it quickly, then hit it with heavy weapons to burn it down fast.

Once done, a second wave of Ravagers and Stalkers will appear. Take them out, then a third wave will spawn in but the boss will appear also. Stay on the cliff, take everything out from afar. When the boss appears, focus your biggest shots on it. Hit it with your super and heavies to get rid of it fast. Then it is simply a matter of clearing the room and grabbing your reward.

That is everything you need to do to complete the Destiny 2 Bay of Drowned Wishes lost sector on Legend or Master difficulty. For more on the game, why not check out our guide to the ongoing Destiny 2 Guardian Games.
