The Call of Duty Vanguard operators list is starting to take shape after twelve of the upcoming characters have been revealed for both the single-player campaign and multiplayer offerings. Some iconic faces and stories are being left behind in the Treyarch arc and Modern Warfare narratives, so legends are set to be made with the characters in Call of Duty Vanguard.

The Call of Duty Vanguard Operators will be brand-new to the franchise, as the storyline is set to be the first of its kind, unlike the depicted adventures of Captain Price and Alex Mason. The twelve revealed Call of Duty Vanguard operators are split into four factions, Barbarian, Hellhound, Sentinel, and Shadow, each containing three fearsome mercenaries.

So, as we prepare to wield the weapons of the new characters for the first time, here's all you need to know about the Call of Duty: Vanguard operators that have been revealed so far.

Call of Duty Vanguard Operators: Task Force Shadow

Polina Petrova

As the first of the Call of Duty Vanguard operators we've been introduced to, through a post-game cutscene in Warzone, Polina Petrova will be heavily featured in both the campaign and multiplayer tales.

She's known for being a kick-ass heroine with an eye for marksmanship and will be the second most prominent feature in the campaign. Having once been a medic, Polina Petrova is now riddled with grief, horrors, and demons, hellbent on revenge for her fallen family and homeland.

Shigenori Ota

Teamed with Petrova is the Japanese Navy Defector Shingernori Ota. Favoured for multiplayer, rather than campaign, the details of Ota's background are scarce, although the look in his eyes from early images hint at him being a ruthless killer, with the presence of their Task Forces' namesake: shadow.

Solange Hardewijk

Much like Ota, Hardewijk has yet to be detailed to great extent, although we have learnt that the multiplayer Call of Duty Vanguard operator is a Dutch Aruban SOE Agent. With a history in Special Operations, she'll likely be the mind of the unit.

Call of Duty Vanguard Operators: Task Force Sentinel

Arthur Kingsley

Arthur Kinglsey is the main protagonist in the full Call of Duty Vanguard campaign length, and will likely be the most seen operator in the game.

Tussling with the likes of Price and Mason for a spot as the most fearsome leader in the franchise's history, Arthur Kingsley will use his Cameroonian background and English education to become a wise and seasoned leader capable of hauling his troops into the depths of a Nazi war base.

Padmavati Balan

The pain in the eyes of Padmavati Balan comes from having lost two homes thanks to the Nazi suppression in WWII. Colonists and fascists have ripped Balan away from her family and loved ones, but she has a sweet spot for taking her duty to the extra mile by protecting civilians.

Again, Balan's Call of Duty Vanguard operator will only feature in multiplayer, but she'll likely pose a threat on the map as a character with a frightening attacking nature.

Constanze Trude Muller

The least detailed Call of Duty Vanguard operator in Task Force Sentinel is the German Axis Defector, Trude Muller. With the archetypical Aryan looks of blonde hair and blue eyes, the Nazi defector will likely have a grudge to grind.

Call of Duty Vanguard Operators: Task Force Hellhounds

Daniel Take Yatsu

As one of the Call of Duty Vanguard operators limited to multiplayer, rather than the campaign, Daniel Take Yatsu's story and background aren't as in-depth as the likes of Polina's.

However, he's set to lead the multiplayer front for the Japanese troops, especially on maps such as the World at War remastered Castle. He's also a dedicated sniper and is often in support of the troops on the front line gifting recon from above.

Wade Jackson

Call of Duty Vanguard operator Wade Jackson is the leader of Task Force Hellhounds, despite us knowing much more about Yatsu. The Italian American Hellhounds Leader will likely be a member of the lineup that players will like - you don't get to lead Hellhounds without being an absolute nutter.

Halima Zambardi

Keeping with the Italian spice of the Hellhounds Task Force, Halima Zambardi is an Italian Somalian Resistance Fighter, who will also offer a fiery attitude mixed with her willingness to survive.

Roland Zeimet

The first member of the Task Force Barbarian is a Luxembourger Axis Defector by the name of Roland Zeimet. With a mysterious past and an elusive pair of eyes, Zeimet will be the blunt force of the operations, although he may pose a slight trust issue with such a storied history.

Lucas Riggs

As the leader of Task Force Barbarian, Lucas Riggs comes as the heartthrob of the Call of Duty Vanguard operators, with a bad boy attitude that is backed up by muscle and drive. The Australian brute adopts a jack-the-lad vibe that you'd offer your life for if he was in danger.

Beatrice Mercier

The only imagery we've seen of Beatrice Mercier is a snippet of her face covered in the blood splatters of a suspected enemy. With a role on the Barbarian Task Force, this Call of Duty Vanguard operator will likely put her experience as a French Resistance Fighter to good use on the front line.

All four Call of Duty: Vanguard operators will be available on the Call of Duty Vanguard release date.
