After a long and drawn-out wait, Advance Wars is finally coming back. Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is bringing back this fan-favourite franchise in 2023. As mentioned above, fans will not have to wait long to get their hands on this Advance Wars reboot. The long wait comes to an end when Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp hits the Nintendo Switch on 21 April this year.

The release date is just around the corner, but that hasn't stopped Nintendo from delaying this game in the past. Originally, the reboot was slated for October 2021, then pushed back to April of 2022. Hopefully, the 21 April 2023 release date will stick.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp trailers

The first trailer for this reboot was, as you might expect, the reveal trailer. Shown off at E3 2021, this news shocked and excited long-time fans of the series. The trailer showed off a few snippets of gameplay and revealed that the game will feature the campaigns of both Advance Wars 1 and Advance Wars 2.

The next trailer for the game came in February 2022 and gave us a bit more of a look at the characters, campaigns and game modes. It revealed that the various commanders will now have voices, and talk during battle.

It also showed that beyond the two story campaigns, there will be extra modes and even the ability to create your own maps.

Finally, the release date announcement trailer was shown at a Nintendo Direct in February of 2023. This trailer was mostly just an animated cinematic and also confirmed the new release date of 21 April.

Advance Wars is a classic series, near and dear to many, but it has also been dormant for many years. This remake of the original two games was the first time for many fans to learn about the franchise, so Nintendo was quick to give us a look at what the game is.

At E3 2021, where the game was revealed, an extended look at Advance Wars 1+2 gameplay was shown during the Nintendo Treehouse stream.
