First, it was the Hot Tub meta, now it's autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) streams that are causing a stir on platforms like Twitch. While there shouldn't be a problem with someone hopping in the hot tub or indulging in a bit of relaxing ASMR, there's a growing trend of streamers who are using this kind of content to exploit community guidelines.

On platforms like Twitch and YouTube, there are supposedly clear guidelines on inappropriate and sexual content. The problem is, they aren't that clear, and it's led to big names making a small fortune with potentially NSFW streams. Never one to hold back, Felix "xQc" Lengyel has called out Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Siragusa and others.

What has xQc said about Amouranth?

Amouranth has been officially been booted off Twitch alongside Jenelle "IndieFoxx" Dagres. It's a move that several big names have supported. Among the pair's critics are xQc. In a recent stream, Lengyel branded the situation a "disgrace". For those who don't know, some content creators have taken to wearing butt-lifting "TikTok pants" and licking microphones in a sensual way. It's something that's paid off, with Amourant's subs soaring from 11,000 in March to 20,000 by the end of May.

Slamming Amouranth, xQc raged, "I won't be negative and weird or rude and I know a lot of them, they hang out with the squads, they train, and go on their shows. The benefit I have of not having a lot of friends. Having no friends, I can say things like they are and these guys f*****g deserved this s**t. It's been a f******g disgrace".

Never one to hold his tongue, Lengyel turned his attention to IndieFoxx and added, "This person should have been permabanned before the last two bans. Now it’s three past the line, and is now still gonna get a small temp.

“And I think that’s a f*****g disgrace, that’s what it is. I don’t even know these people, but this rubs off on people really badly. This creates a very negative environment for other partners. See, if they break two or three rules over two years, they’re gonna get clapped on".

What's next for xQc and Amouranth?

While xQc is making his feelings clear, the women at the centre of the scandal are mocking the whole situation. IndieFoxx joked she's been working so hard, Twitch has given them the weekend off. Amouranth also laughed, "I’ve been banned on Twitch. 1 like = 1 second shorter ban". Elsewhere, there are complaints that the duo might've been banned for promoting their OnlyFans.

Lengyel's notoriously fiery temper has landed him in hot water with streamers including Imane "Pokimane" Anys, but by the looks of his latest rant, he has a new target. At the time of writing, Amouranth and IndieFoxx haven't commented on what xQc has said. Knowing them both, we don't imagine they'll be too fussed, however, they're also likely to have their own response to his views.

Even as the Hot Tub meta looks like it's finally on the way out and sexual ASMR streams could follow suit, there's sure to be another saucy trend raising eyebrows and pushing Twitch's guidelines to the limits. Either way, it's a controversial conversation that continues to ask what the streaming service is really supposed to be used for.
