xQc Hits Back At Amouranth Over 'Weak' Gambling Statement
Felix "xQc" Lengyel has found a new target in the streamer community, and after having plenty of beef with Imane "Pokimane" Anys, has now turned his attention to Kaitlyn "Amouranth" Sirugasa. Both sides have been caught in their own drama recently, however, xQc has fired the next shot and called his rival streamer "weak".
Amouranth has hit headlines recently during that whole hot tub/ASMR Twitch meta - which caught the attention of xQc. Slamming Amouranth and Jenelle "IndieFoxx" Dagres, xQc branded the situation a "disgrace".
This left the door open for Amouranth to wade into xQc's gambling debacle, where she also didn't hold back.
What's going on with xQc and Amouranth?
For those who don't know, xQc was recently criticised for apparently trying to exploit gambling regulations on Twitch. While gambling streams are usually confined to their own section of the streaming service, there's a growing number of content creators who are finding loopholes to promote gambling.
To some, this is just as bad as Amoruanth and co. pushing their OnlyFans, which has led to both sides going to war.
On June 30, Amouranth boldly claimed xQc was only highlighting the ongoing hot tub meta debate to draw attention away from his gambling drama. Here, Amouranth asked the Twitterverse, "Imagine a trading places-like episode where I’m Doing slots and he’s in a tub", and shared a gif of Dan Akroyd and Eddie Murphy from the movie Trading Places. Although she was making light of the situation, it rose the dragon that is xQc.
In his latest stream, a clearly vexed xQc raged, "Guys, what in the actual f**k? I’ve stated my stance five times, and out of anybody at all, she is the only person who heard my take in person on Discord...And she pulls this out? That’s f*****g weak. That is so weak".
As xQc continued to vent, he said Amouranth is trying to twist his words to make it about morals. "Nobody ever spoke about the ethics and the morals of the nudity, gambling," continued Lengyel. "It’s never been about this. It’s always been about the concerns about Twitch and the Terms of Service".
Moving away from the gambling controversy, xQc looped back to swimsuits, ASMR, and OnlyFans. "The problem is that if I watch a police video and literally some guy’s one-tenth of a booty shows up, I am literally banned", said xQc. "Yet these streams had mini-shorts all the way inside the butt crack, on full screen for hours on end, and it was considered normal and accepted according to Terms of Service. And that is a general concern for all partners".
What's next for xQc and Amouranth?
Remembering that neither xQc nor Amouranth are known for just letting things lie, we don't imagine she'll stay quiet for long. xQc said gambling doesn't have a TOS violation because there's a "literal slots category" on Twitch. The moral implications are up for debate, but considering he branded Amoruanth a "moron", she's unlikely to agree to disagree.
In terms of the morality of potential gambling streams, other big names have waded into the situation. Pokimane laid out her cards in and called out "multi-millionaire" streamers who don't need to promote gambling sites. "My point was that once you’re a multi-millionaire streamer, you have so many potential sources of income that you can opt to choose the ones that are less ethically ambiguous than promoting gambling sites", said Pokimane.
She said you could promote a game without "hurting anybody" and slammed "sketchier" ideas like promoting gambling streams. Either way, Twitch find itself in hot water right now - and we don't just mean because of hot tubs. There's already been a long debate about the fairness of its Terms of Service that has rolled over from the DMCA takedown mess. With content creators going to war and Twitch is caught in the middle, things are surely going to come to a head soon.
