Xbox Shares New Official Look At Halo Infinite Gameplay
Fans have been clamouring for new Halo Infinite footage ever since we last got a peek - but frankly, we can’t blame them. The game is looking brilliant, and after a reveal that was… peaky at best, it’s gone from strength to strength with every new gameplay and feature reveal. The game has the chance to really give the Halo series some life, and bring it back to its former glory, and that’s exactly what a lot of fans are banking on.
With every new peek at the gameplay of Halo Infinite, it starts to look better and better - and now we’ve got some official footage of the Xbox One version of the game that offers a new look at how the game works.
343 Industries Share First Look At Halo Infinite On Xbox One
A technical preview took place that discussed the progress of Halo Infinite, and in the whole 90-minute presentation we got around 2 minutes of gameplay footage - but for some, that’s just enough. The short clip focussed on how the game’s multiplayer mode plays, as it was revealed that the mode would be free-to-play for Xbox users, meaning the experience seen would be the most widespread of the game’s offerings.
It reflects a fairly typical firefight that we’ve come to know from the Halo series, but we got a look at a Slayer match on the brand-new Bazaar map, and the intricacies introduced in this instalment of the series.
The video also shows off a good look at the “friend or foe” system that the game implements to maintain player customisation.
What Is Halo Infinite’s Friend Or Foe System?
“Friend or Foe” as it’s referred to during this stream, is the way that Halo Infinite visualises enemies and teammates in-game without substituting a player’s customisation options. As shown in the gameplay footage, enemies have something of a red glowing outline, almost like an additional shield. It easily indicates enemies and teammates without forcing a player’s skins or armour into a colour it doesn’t suit. It’s a system that’s bound to save fans a lot of unnecessary stress, and it’s a smart implementation, especially when a lot of hype for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode stems from what its customisation options can provide.
Even though this small peek at gameplay didn’t reveal too much of the game, it’s still incredibly promising. Halo Infinite is set to shake up the series in the best way, and it looks like incredible fun so far. Roll on the Autumn!
