Forget The Xbox Fridge, You Can Now Get Xbox Luggage

Microsoft

The world is finally opening up again, and as we plan a potential summer getaway, nothing says "I <3 video games" quite like official Xbox luggage. Picture the scene, you've just stepped off a flight for the first time in two years, head to baggage claim, and see an Xbox Series S come around the conveyor belt. Wait, that's not a console... it's your luggage.

It's the dawn of a new era for the industry, as Microsoft and Sony duke it out to be crowned ultimate next-gen console champion. Both have been called out for potential design flaws, but it turns out, the shape of the Xbox Series S makes for the perfect travelling companion.

What is the Xbox luggage?

The concept of Xbox-themed luggage might seem like an odd one, but for the ultimate Master Chief, it's sure to be a logical buy. While it's not luggage in a traditional sense, this custom-made white suitcase is padded with foam inserts, so you can safely take your Xbox Series S on the go. Not that you would, but it beats chucking it in an actual suitcase with your flip-flops.

An Xbox suitcase is a collaboration between Xbox Australia & New Zealand and luggage company, July. They've captured the very essence of the Xbox Series S, from its white sheen to the circular vent on the side.

The limited line of Xbox luggage has apparently been created to honour the console release of Microsoft Flight Simulator, which is finally swooping into our lives on the Xbox Series X/S. It's clear to see the connection between going on your jollies and taking flight with Microsoft Flight Simulator. If you're already sold, you're probably asking where and when you can buy this Xbox luggage.

Can you buy Xbox luggage?

Unfortunately, this glossy Xbox luggage isn't for general sale. Only a handful of actual suitcases were made, with most of them being sent out to influencers to spread the word about Microsoft Flight Simulator on console. However, one lucky winner can get their hands on the Xbox luggage without needing to be verified on Instagram.

As outlined by some competition Ts and Cs, the competition is only open to those in Australia and New Zealand. If you live Down Under, you simply have to retweet and reply to the original tweet for your chance to own this rare piece of video game history. The ones that went out to influencers included an Xbox controller and had their Gamertags printed on the back of the luggage, but we don't know if the competition case will do the same.

Of course, this isn't the only time Microsoft has had a little fun with the shape of its consoles. As the internet exploded with memeable posts about the Xbox Series X and Series S looking like fridges, Microsoft decided to cash in on the chuckles and actually sent an Xbox-shaped fridge to the likes of Snoop Dogg and YouTuber iJustine.

Unlike the Xbox luggage, Microsoft is actually releasing the Xbox fridge. Coming to a store near you on November 10, the Xbox Series X fridge will cost $499/£449, while the smaller Xbox Series S fridge will cost $300/£249. Sadly, our jet-set dreams of touring the globe with some Xbox luggage might be a little out of reach.
