English footballing organisation Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that they are launching themselves into Rocket League for the RLCS X Winter Split.

Wolves Esports has signed former Libertas and RLRS starlet Rix "Rix_Ronday" Ronday as captain, with ex-Barrage outcast Ole "Oaly" van Doorn joining alongside Spanish prospect Luis "LuiisP" Puente Peña, as the organisation embark on their maiden voyage in competitive Rocket League.

The organisation that operates in the top flight of English football also have sides in titles such as PlayerUnkown Battlegrounds (PUBG), Identity V, and FIFA 21.

Rix Ronday comes in from Libertas who managed to secure a top-16 finish in Europe in the final two regional events and the Fall Major and is also a two-time Gfinity United Kingdom Series champion. He stated, “It is a real honour to captain the first-ever Wolves Esports Rocket League team. I’m confident that we have recruited two of Rocket League’s most exciting talents in Ole and Luis and we are working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the RLCS X Winter Split kick-off.

Rocket League is a really fast-paced game with many similarities to football, so we hope Wolves fans will enjoy tuning in to watch the action.”

Wolves Esports' General Manager for Marketing and Commercial Growth also added "We are thrilled to announce the launch of a Wolves esports Rocket League team. Millions of people around the world are playing Rocket League and, given its similarities to football, it felt like the perfect next step into esports.

“Gaming and esports remain a crucial part of our brand growth strategy and signing such talented and ambitious players to represent our Rocket League esports team is another step forward in our journey".

The side will start their quest for success in the European Winter Split, starting from the bottom with no RLCS points. Kicking off on November 12, Wolves Esports will look to qualify for the first Regional Event and begin to scale the table for a place at the Major in January.
