Who Is The Next Apex Legend?
With the newest Stories From The Outlands teaser dropped, the Apex Legends community are abuzz with the confirmation of who the next Legend to join the Apex Games will be - Valk.
Season 9 is set to begin on May 4, and leakers and dataminers have been hard at work trying to reveal the newest Legend to hit our screens ahead of time.
The main two suspects were Valk (Soaring Aviator) and Pariah, but Valk appears to be our new Apex Legend.
Who is Valk in Apex Legends?
Valk has been hanging out in the Apex Legends files since Season 2, and she is finally going to step into the Apex Games.
As well as a small in-game image of Valk (which appears to be from the Character Select screen), Director Chad Grenier was quoted during an interview as saying "the legend in Season 9 I hope will be liked in Japan", hinting that Valk could be of Japanese descent.
Fans believe they spotted her hovering in the air in the recently released 100 million player video from Apex Legends, and one eagle-eyed Twitter user has directed us to the fact that the Stories From The Outlands video is named "Northstar", referencing the Northstar Titans in Titanfall, meaning her abilities could have some cohesion with the powers of the large piloted robots from Respawn's most famous game series.
According to Biast12, a famed Apex leaker, Valk has several Legendary skins at launch, which are named;
- Aerial Support
- Choke Uplift
- Valhalla Descent
- Warrior’s Justice
As Valk is a shortened version of "Valkyrie" (as confirmed in the teaser trailer), we can glean from this that the skins may be influenced by Norse mythology.
What are Valk’s abilities?
Leaked abilities for Valk are doing the rounds, but nothing is confirmed, and everything is subject to change.
Tactical – Cluster Missile: Fire a rocket that explodes multiple times.
Passive – VTOL Jets: Hold jump to initiate VTOL Jets – allows hovering in the air.
Ultimate – Skyward: Press once to prepare for launch. Teammates can interact with Valk to join the launch. Press again to launch into the air and skydive.

Another recently leaked Apex Legend is Pariah, who may be joining us in future seasons (just not Season 9). Biast12 has gone so far as to share images of their abilities.
Passive - Pariah can see enemy health bars. Pariah is also immune to stunning effects and SDM steam.
Tactical - Throw a sonar grenade revealing enemies in its area of effect. Grenade lasts for 15 seconds.
Ultimate - Pariah activates an SDM device releasing a flurry of steam in all directions but becomes unable to move, steam causes burn damage directly to health.
