Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 2 has brought with it a plethora of new additions. Perhaps most notable is the addition of an arsenal of mythic weapons. Similar to mythic weapons of the past like the Infinity Blade and the Infinity Gauntlet, these weapons are extremely powerful. To counter their strength, only one of each weapon is available per match. Obtaining these weapons is not as straightforward as one may think. To top it off, Epic Games has stopped releasing patch notes for each new update. Due to this, many Fortnite players have been left wondering how exactly to obtain these mythic items. Below, we will list all of the available mythic items in Chapter 2 - Season 2, as well as highlighting the different ways to obtain them.

With the release of Season 2, the island has been taken over by covert operatives. To go along with the spy theme, there are five new locations on the map that serve as hideouts for these operatives. Each hideout is heavily guarded by henchmen, turrets, lasers and the like. These hideouts are also home to new gameplay features such as key cards that open loot-filled vaults and crates that can only be opened with an “ID scan”.

Last but not least, each location is run by a “Boss”. These bosses have enhanced health and require a bit of preparation to defeat. Once killed, they will drop an exclusive mythic weapon.

Skye’s Assault Rifle and Skye’s Grappler

At the north-western-most point of the map lies The Shark. The Shark is a luxurious island hideout home to our first boss, Skye. If players can get through the many lines of defence — as well as defeat the other human players landing there — they will be met by Skye. Once the formidable boss is defeated, she will drop the mythic Scar, and the mythic Grappler. The mythic Scar is simply a more powerful version of the standard assault rifle. Skye’s Grappler is a little different from the grappler most players are accustomed to. It has infinite uses. This makes it one of the most powerful items ever implemented when in the right hands. Skilled players can ascend the steepest of mountains and the tallest of player-made builds in mere seconds. The Shark is the only hideout with multiple mythic items.

Midas’ Drum Gun

The notorious Drum Gun is back. This time in legendary rarity, in the form of Midas’ Drum Gun. Players can find Midas’ Drum Gun on the very centre island named The Agency. Here, the boss, Midas lays in wait for eager players. Upon his defeat, he drops the mythic version of this powerful weapon. The mythic Drum Gun is as strong as it ever was, boasting a DPS of 250. The fire rate has also been increased from previous versions. This weapon will be great for breaking into enemy boxes and mowing down the opposition.

Meowscle’s Peow Peow Rifle

Visiting The Yacht in the far North-East of the map will grant you the opportunity to claim Meowscle’s Peow Peow Rifle. This mythic version of the Heavy Assault Rifle drops off the corpse of The Yacht’s boss, Meowscle. This weapon does 44 damage per shot, making that 88 with a headshot. Accurate players can use this insane weapon to make quick work of their enemies. Two headshots and one body shot are all that's necessary to take an enemy from 200 HP to 0 HP. Make sure to take cover if you know someone you are fighting is holding onto Meowscle’s Peow Peow Rifle or you may end up downed before you know it.

Brutus’ Minigun

The build-shredding Minigun has returned from the vault. In the underground hideout called The Grotto, the big-bodied Brutus holds his prized possession. The item in question is Brutus’ Minigun. Players must fight their way through the havoc of defences and confront this boss. You can’t miss him, due to his size and the powerful weapon he hoists. Once defeated, he drops the mythic Minigun. This version of the Minigun is much more powerful than any that have come before it. Brutus’ Minigun absolutely shreds defences, with little to no damage drop off. Players left in the open stand no chance against a player wielding this mythic weapon. If you hear this Minigun churning in the distance, your best bet is to run as fast as you can to cover. Building it won’t save you.

TNTina’s Ka-Boom Bow

Last, but not least, we have the mythic Boom Bow. The Boom Bow was a controversial addition to the game a couple of seasons ago. Love it or hate it, it’s back in the form of TNTina’s Ka-Boom Bow. Just South-West of Slurpy Swamp lies TNTina’s hideout, The Rig. The Rig is as it sounds, a floating oil rig heavily guarded by henchmen. TNTina will be patrolling around wielding her mythic bow. Players who eliminate her will be able to claim the last of the mythic items. Like the Grappler, TNTina’s Ka-Boom Bow has infinite arrows. The arrows recharge, similar to the Bandage Bazooka, to prevent too much spamming. The mythic bow does a little less splash damage than the one from previous seasons - but is still deserving of its mythic status.

Make sure you and your squad are prepared if you plan on searching for these exclusive items. These five hideouts will surely be the most contested of landing spots as players hunt down the various mythic items. Keep in mind, there is always the chance you could run into another player with one of these items and defeat them in combat. Taking these items off of another human player is the only other way to find one in-game.
