The Marvel Cinematic Universe is ushering in a new era, as Destin Daniel Cretton's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings officially welcome Simu Liu's Master of Kung Fu to the world's highest-grossing franchise. Everyone wants a slice of the Marvel pie, and with this in mind, Microsoft has released its own Shang-Chi Xbox.

Following the dramatic events of Avengers: Endgame, it was all-change in the MCU. The old guard of the OG Avengers has largely bowed out, with fans looking ahead at the so-called New Avengers. Alongside returning favourites like Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Spider-Man all tipped to step up, newcomers like the Eternals, Yelena Belova, and Shang-Chi are also primed for a place.

What is the Shang-Chi Xbox?

As unveiled by Microsoft, there's a special promotion where you can win a Shang-Chi edition of the Xbox Series X. Announced by Xbox Wire, one lucky gamer will get to own this limited-edition Xbox Series X console, a custom Xbox Wireless Controller, Shang-Chi action figure, and a 12-month Xbox Game Pass card. It all comes in a specially themed package that's inspired by this "history-making" movie.

The branding on the actual Xbox Series X is reasonably subtle, with the Shang-Chi's name tucked away in the corner. The movie's logo has been cleverly incorporated into the Xbox's design, while the controller has some red scaling detail. To be honest, our favourite bit is the bright box that's adorned with the moniker of the villainous Ten Rings.

While it's a bummer this colourful combo isn't available to buy in-store (we'll take 12 please), it's relatively easy to win. Simply follow the official Xbox account on Twitter and retweet the competition tweet before September 18. There are all the usual terms and conditions, but mainly, you have to be over the age of 18 and live in a region that supports Xbox Live.

Are there more limited-edition Xbox consoles?

One of the PlayStation 5'a big selling points was the idea of interchangeable faceplates to stop it looking like a Wi-Fi router. Microsoft seems to have gone down a very different route - unveiling limited-edition consoles on a nearly weekly basis. If you aren't mad about Marvel, what about a console honouring the upcoming release of Far Cry 6?

Coming straight from the war-torn island of Yara, the Fary Cry 6 Xbox is something El Presidente would definitely be jealous of. Looking like an explosive device that Dani Rojas has crafted, the console screams Far Cry 6 with its colour palette and rough aesthetic. To win this one, you must be a Microsoft Rewards member in the US, UK, Canada, Germany, or France and head here to enter before September 30.

We recently covered special Xbox Series luggage, showing that the only limit to Microsoft reinventing its washing machine-shaped console is the design team's imagination. Whether it's Shang-ChiFar Cry 6, or the inevitable Starfield Xbox Series X, consider us sold. Well, if Microsoft ever decided to sell them.
