As the dotted line seems to have been inked on the pending OpTic Gaming and Team Envy merger for the upcoming Call of Duty League season, the Washington Demon Cats (D.C.) look set to be swooping in and pawing their way through the remnants of unsigned players.

With a heft buy-in price for the league, the Demon Cats have already begun eyeing up their potential roster for the CDL 2022 season, looking to hit the ground purring rather than emulate the laid-back attitude of the likes of Paris Legion.

Just as Seth "Scump" Abner confirms that his contract for the season has been signed, all but confirming the proposed Dallas OpTic team, leaks now suggest that Washington already have four players lined up, all of who boast experience playing in the league.

According to reputable leaker Cory "CCRONEE" Davis, the Washington Demon Cats are interested in signing Anthony "Methodz" Zinni, Reece "Vivid" Drost, Thomas "TJHaly" Haly, and Paul "PaulEhx" Avila.

The leak also suggests that Paris Legion will continue their reputation of picking last to scrape the barrel, although their low-wage team looks to be much more competitive than previous years. Donovan "Temp" Laroda looks set to stay at Legion for another season, whilst Dallas Empire Stage 3 stand-in Tyler "FeLo" Johnson will join alongside Jacob "Decemate" Cato and former World Champion Johnathan "John" Perez.

The Washington Demon Cats CDL 2022 roster looks to be the more favourable of the two rosters, considering the proven SMG ability of both Vivid and TJHaly - the latter of who topped the charts in 2021 for the best SnD performance with a perfect 12-0 scoreline.

Methodz was also a part of the early-season launch from Toronto Ultra, and was arguably unfortunate to not find another roster after being swapped out for fan-selected Rookie of the Year Jamie "Insight" Craven.

A range of players have now been demoted out of the league, should these final two rosters be solidified. Ex-champion duo of Just "SiLLy" Fargo-Palmer and Adam "Assault" Garcia have yet to find a team after a woeful two years in the CDL, whilst Preston "Prestinni" Sanderson also seems to have missed out on a spot.

Washington Demon Cats will likely join the CDL shortly after the Dallas OpTic merger is announced, with Methodz expected to be the first player announced on the roster.
