Warzone Will Reportedly Receive New Map For Call Of Duty 2021
Ah, Verdansk. Home of the Warzone massive, nuclear bombs and zombie infestations, the location has become about as synonymous with Call of Duty as screaming 12-year-olds in MW2 lobbies and diving on top of your friends in the corner of Kino Der Toten’s spawn room.
It’s Warzone’s saving grace for many and has become the battleground on which some of the best plays in 21st-century competitive gaming have taken place. Many fans have wondered where its future lies with the upcoming Call of Duty title set for a 2021 release, and maybe, it could herald the end of the road for the city. And according to a new report, it looks like Verdansk could be set for retirement.
Warzone’s New Map For Call Of Duty 2021
The arrival of the new Call Of Duty, rumoured to be subtitled Vanguard and return to the World War II setting, could have effects that reverberate through Warzone, impacting its playing field significantly. According to VGC, a new map will be coming to Warzone that’s “significantly larger” than Verdansk to suit the aesthetics of the new game. The report also suggests that the integration of the two games will be much better than that of Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War, as they’ve got “a lot more time” to set it all up.
The new map is expected to join Warzone around the same time that the new mainline Call of Duty title is set to launch, which right now is expected for November 2021, so you could be playing the all-new Warzone map before the holidays.
Only time will tell if this comes to be true, but with a new Call of Duty title on the horizon, it might be entirely plausible that a new map is on its way. Say your fond farewells to Verdansk while you can in Warzone Season 4.
