Reddit user Sorangkun, analyzed all of the existing Assault Rifles in the game for their statistics and suggested attachments, which will maximize your chances of winning a battle.
He tested every assault rifle against an enemy with three armour plates through body shots. Instead of categorizing rifles with the best overall stats, he stated the weapon which took the least time to eliminate your opponent, assuming that all your shots are on target. The outcome is slightly surprising:

According to this list, FN FAL has the ability to shred through your enemy’s armour the fastest, slightly increasing your chances of overpowering them. The reason these results are surprising is that the M4A1 is the most popular of these rifles, given its simplicity of usage, but these results prove that they aren’t the best choice by far for a quick takedown of the enemy.
