Warzone Players Beg Devs For Changes To Plunder
Even though Plunder might be heralded as one of the best Call of Duty modes there is, that doesn't mean the Warzone favourite is a perfect gameplay experience. As we continue to dash for the cash in a race to be the first team that earns a cool $1 million, there's an annoying niggle from above that's ruining Plunder for some.
Away from the standard Battle Royale mode of an ever-shrinking circle, Plunder is a more relaxed experience where you don't have the pressure of an encroaching cloud of deadly gas. Taking place on the standard Verdasnk '84 map, Plunder gives you unlimited lives and spawns - meaning it's a great place to grind through challenges. Well, that's unless an attack helicopter picks you off at every turn.
What changes do Warzone players want in Plunder?
Posting on Reddit, u/butlistentotheWuson left a lengthy rant about the state of attack helicopters in Plunder. Here, the vexed player fumed, "Holy sh*t they annoy the life out of me". Admitting that they mainly use Plunder to level-up guns, the OP described Plunder as a battleground where the attack helicopters are winning. They concluded, "Was just fighting a team at the airport on my own and was doing well except every time i ran in and out the hangars the enemies knew where i was because of that stupid f*****g helicopter shooting at me".
The poster wasn't alone in their complaints, as other furious Warzone fanatics shared their attack helicopter experiences. Someone else said, "F*****g most annoying thing I’ve ever experienced in a game. Actually infuriating", while another added, "They make everyone hide inside of buildings. They remove any action from the game".
A third said, "It feels like they got even more aggressive now compared to before, even when peeking out windows they gun for you now". They did also point out a positive and added, "EDIT: They do have one benefit though, they count in the Vehicular Homicide daily challenge at least".
However, others had some helpful advice for combatting attack helicopters. One player concluded, "Cold Blooded makes you invisible to them, and Combat Bow allows you to blow them up with 2 impacts". Another simply wrote, "Cold-blooded and ghost are your friend".
Will Raven Software add attack helicopter changes to Warzone Plunder?
At the end of the day, a minority of disgruntled players is hardly going to be enough to force developers into taking out attack helicopters. Still, with 1.6k upvotes (and climbing), it's clear attack helicopters aren't a beloved part of Plunder.
We recently covered how Warzone removed helicopters due to a glitch that was making players invisible. Although they quickly returned, there's an argument that they're more hassle than they're worth. Then again, just like building is a divisive addition to Fortnite, attack helicopters are probably something we're going to have to get used to.
Importantly, attack helicopters are now an integral part of Plunder's final few minutes. When a team hits $1 million, the bonus round swarms the map with attack helicopters and they're a quick way to earn some extra dollar. Removing them now would involve overhauling Plunder. Raven has promised an imminent rebalance of Perks, but for the time being, it looks like we're stuck with these flying foes as they are.
