Warzone Players Furious About Battle Pass Function
The introduction of a Battlepass has been many developers' reach-around after loot boxes and chests were called out to be a form of gambling.
With the RNG determinable packs, chests, crates, and boxes all under the microscope from outside law firms, the developers' lust for money was directed towards a tiered spectrum that allows players to work for their rewards - or simply buy their way through them. Combined with bundles in the store, with spicier content than the pass itself, developers such as Call of Duty's Activision have continued to rake in the dollar.
However, the system used in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone has recently come under fire from players due to a "scummy" feature.
'Scummy' Warzone Battlepass Problem
Players have now hit out at the "Buy 1 Tier" feature after it has caused players to accidentally waste 150 CoD Points.
The feature allows players to use 150 CP to skip a tier, which can come in handy when grinding for the Tier 100 blueprints, but can be equally useless. With the pass costing 1,000 CP, and reaping an extra 300 CP for those who manage to complete it, most players use the points to save up for the next seasons' rewards with a little left over.
After Warzone Season 3, most players would be left with 1,200 points, enough to purchase a cool bundle from the store should they wish.
However, one slip of the finger, and you'll be down 150 CP instantly. The "Buy 1 Tier" option has no warning, or hold functionality, to prevent players from accidentally buying these, lining Activision's pockets with the money of the misfortunate.
Warzone Players' Frustration
One Reddit user jibed that Activision can add a warning to buying your teammates back in Warzone with fake cash, but when it comes to real money, the developers conveniently forget to add one.
Players also admitted that they have recently fallen victim to the problem. One Reddit user said: "Bought two tiers this season on accident myself," whilst another said: "This happened to me for the first time last night. Annoying."
The fan base has now called for the button to be changed, either to having to be held (avoiding any slips), or adding a little confirmation message before purchasing.
